The danger of the twerk is real.
Please twerk responsibly.

Holy cow! Bet she spent the night in a burn unit!
It's gone already.
A twerk license revoked.
Did the video not load for you besty?
Here's a gif of the best part (although it's not as funny as seeing it without the build-up or in fluid motion:
Or the sound.
It says this video may be inappropriate for people who are not logged in.
I rarely log in to YouTube, so they must think I'm a juvie, which is probably true.
Anyway, that's why it won't play for me.
Funny how the camera turned off just in time.
If only this happened to Miley Cyrus...
EDIT: I absolutely love this video! That gif doesn't do it justice, you need sound.

The Post has picked up the story now too. I'm linking it because the video is embedded so even if you can't see it on youtube you can see it here.
The girl is fine btw, so now I don't feel so bad for laughing so hard at her.

It is a perfect storm of failure. What else could possibly go wrong in that situation? It's like something from The Simpsons.
I showed this to my son and his friend last night and of course they thought it was hi-larious.
I can't stop laughing.
Being an old fogey, I never heard of "twerking" until the Miley Cyrus controversy. According to Wikipedia, "twerking" is "a type of dancing in which the dancer, usually a woman, shakes her hips in an up-and-down bouncing motion, causing the dancer's buttocks to shake, 'wobble' and 'jiggle.'" I can't picture how this would work unless the dancer is very coordinated, or has a rear-end the size of Harvey Fierstein's. Somehow, I can't picture him doing a dance that comes out looking suggestive.
Maybe Wikipedia has it wrong and "twerking" originated as a shortened form of "teleworking." The hip wiggling comes from the teleworker doing a kind of end zone victory dance when he or she realizes that the remote computer connection actually went through for once.
Twerking is a real thing. It came out of Bounce music, a style of hip-hop/dance music based in New Orleans. Big Freedia is the most famous artist right now and she has a new show premiering on Fuse in October all about Bounce and twerking.
Back in my day (about 10-15 years ago), we called it bucking. Maybe that was just a regional term. It's all the same thing. Shake it to the beat and don't stop till the song does.
Big Freedia's tutorial video, probably NSFW

My mother called this on Sunday.
We all watched the video at my sister's house, and my mom said, "There's no way that's real," and proceeded to detail the entire elaborate plan. We said she was crazy.
I had managed to miss the video until Damon Lindelof theorized on twitter that it was a stuntwoman in a hoax a few days ago, but finding out Jimmy Kimmel was behind it is fabulous fun.
And once again, the egg is on the face of local news media everywhere.
