Were the adult shirts $35? I'm not sure I'll be able to squeeze into a kid's one. Happy Hallowe'en!

Any fun layovers? Not really. I have 4 hours in Sydney but I don't think I'll be able to leave the airport because I'd have to go through customs and stuff. But I've already been there anyway, so I won't mind just chillin' in the airport. LAX is my other layover.

Oh, and Mabs, I'm not sure about trying for GAs on 11/21. If I end up having to wait at the B.O. on 11/22, I don't know if I'll want to wait on 11/21 as well. But then again I do want to try and catch Bono coming in or out sometime, so maybe I will come into the city early on 11/21 and see what the line looks like. It's still up in the air, but trying for GAs on 11/21 is an option right now!

Where are you hoping to get this magical GA ticket from? Are you banking on them dropping on TM/Box Office, or that you'll find something close to face on Interference/eBay? Will you aim for being on Adam or Edge's side?

I think there shouldn't be any problem with the mail. Even if I sent by standard surface mail, the latest it should arrive is 11/16, and you'll be back in December anyway, so who cares! What's the roommate situation? Do I need to pack some rat poison as well?

Who are the authors for Early Modern Women's Writing? I would go for that, or Virginia Woolf. VW is a catch-22. On one hand, she's been studied to death so it won't be hard to find literature for your projects; on the other hand, she's been studied to death so it's unlikely you'll come up with any profound and outstanding interpretations that haven't already been discovered. I would go with Early Modern (what's considered Early Modern anyway?).

They had two adult versions of the shirt, a Women's Baby Doll tee, and a Men's for $35. The small Women's was smaller than the Youth (maybe a little longer, but definitely narrower). If I weren't so friggin cheap, I would have gone for a Women's medium. It would have been more sensible, especially for the fall/winter, so I could wear a long-sleeve shirt under it. Actually, I did wear it the other day w/ a long-sleeve shirt under it. I guess it fit, but it was very, VERY snug!

Maybe something'll pop up on TM for 11/22 before the actual show, so that'll be out of the way ahead of time. I want a GA for Monday in the worst way! And, I really want to wait for autographs if the weather's quasi-decent. *sigh* Decisions, decisions. Good thing we've got 3 weeks to figure this out! Eeee!!! You'd think that by shows 6 and 7 the demand would be down some, right? RIGHT?!?!?

Yup, adult shirts were $35. I think you can squeeze into a kid's one. If I can do it, you can do it. (Granted, both Nic and I got the same size - the largest one - and it was a tighter squeeze for me than it was for her!) The largest youth size was actually slightly bigger than the Small for women's, so if you do end up getting an adult's, I think a medium is just right. My boobs and hips were about to suffocate~but it's worth saving the $15!

Lord, two lay-overs including 4 hours in Sydney? That sucks. I hate the idea of doing more than 1 lay-over (which I'll have to do in Dec. for Miami) - it seems like more potential to lose luggage and miss flights! I guess you don't really have much choice coming from that neck of the woods, eh? So are you officially graduated now?

Are you not based in Manhattan? Where are you taking the train in from? Are you going to try for GAs for both days then, or seats for one day and GA for the next? The entrance that Bono et al come in from is right next to the GA/BO line-up, so it's all pretty close, and really, a few hours fly when you're having fun! (And by "having fun", I mean "heart jumping when a dark SUV pulls up and having your umbrella snap in half.")

If the weather's right, I'd totally camp out for GAs for both days, and sell your seats at face at the door to some poor soul - it seemed like there were more people there asking if people were selling tickets over people trying to sell tickets!

Early Modern Women in Literature:
Course Description: This course explores literature by women of the sixteenth and seventeenth century.
(Doesn't tell you a whole hell of a lot, does it?!)

Open Seminar: Virginia Woolf and Bloomsbury
Course Description: This course will look at the fiction, criticism, visual art, philosophy, and lives of the Bloomsbury Group, an influential group of intellectuals whose work helped shape modern sensibilities in the first few decades of the twentieth century. In addition to Woolf, the Group included economist John Maynard, novelist E. M. Forster, art critic Roger Fry, and biographer Lytton Strachey.

I'm pretty meh about both of them, but these two, and good ol' Geoff are literally the only options, if I take the 60s Lit/Philosophy course and leave Tues/Thurs open for an internship. And I've already pretty much committed myself to the 60s class, because that's what I'm going to use to write my Honors thesis on. Write now, my plan is (something along the lines of): Bob Dylan and his literary/political/philosophical influence on American culture. *shrug* It's been approved and it's got to be better than 16th century poetic discourse or something equally hellish.

ETA: Yeah, I'm pretty damn sure you'd be able to fit into the Youth 12, Elhpie (unless you've really been gorging yourself on Tim Tams and Cadbury chocolate! Just remember NO DRYERS!!!

Hmm...maybe I'll wear my MGS tee out tonight along with my Tiffany & Co. pendant. I haven't worn the tee since the concert!

(In fact, er, I haven't unpacked my clothes yet. My enormous suitcase is still sitting, more or less filled, and taking up 60% of the walking space in my room. I'm hoping if I stall long enough, I won't actually have to unpack anymore because my December vacation will have rolled around! I've only washed my underwear, both pairs of jeans and the same, like, 3 tops that I had to wear. Everything else is just getting wrinkled in the suitcase.)

I suppose that gives me something to do tonight...I haven't even used my Coach bag yet!

Oooh, you have the option of doing your Bob Dylan topic in the same time slot? Then why the heck are either of these other ones even on the table?? Stick with Dylan!

ETA: Yeah, seriously, Elph, no dryers. I'm only going to wear that tee after I've showered and scrubbed, and if I'm going somewhere where mess isn't a concern. Because once that sucker gets popped in the dryer, it's going to become a $20 arm warmer.

I know you said the Coach bag was tattering away, but how'd the Prada make out? The other (red) bad was a "Prada," wasn't it?!

No, no...I'm taking the (6 credit) 60s class (that doesn't really count for anything, but I'm using it to write my thesis) on Monday/Wednesday, BUT I need another lit class, and the other two are the only ones that are offered at night (Chaucer is M/W after the 60s class, but I have zero interest in that). I want to leave Tues/Thurs during the day open for an internship. *sigh* Better get one, dammit! I sent out apps for Conan and New Line Cinema this afternoon.

ETA: I washed mine and made a point to snag it before I put the clothes into the dryer, and it's fine. Though, I don't know how long I'll be able to keep it up and remember. I only got one wash out of my Pink Floyd shirt, then I forgot and tossed it into the dryer w/ the rest. It shrunk right up, and now it's about the same size as the U2 shirt! Yikes!

Have you searched on the Time Warner website? Then again, I guess if you've already sent out for New Line, it'll go to all of the Time Warner subsidiaries, right?

Eh...do you really want a night time class? I suppose it's your best option so you have Tues/Thurs off. (And Friday too?)

If you have to take another class, I'd go for Virginia Woolf, now that I've read the descriptions. 16th/17th century lit doesn't do anything for me, and the course description for Woolf & Bloomsbury just sounds more interesting.

I could probably pick up the pin for you if you remind me. I'll being standing in the line anyway.

As for the boots and passing them off to me in NY, whatever you feel more comfortable with is fine with me. I am open to any scenario.

I was thinking that I'd be able to have CDs of 11/21 available the morning after, but my computer has been going through this overheating stage lately and there is no way that I'll be able to do the burning on that. It'll have to be done on the desktop at home, so alas - no immediate U2.

I can't believe it's Halloween night and I am about to go to a damned movie. This has always been "my" holiday, but this year I really couldn't care less.

Haha. Tiff, I don't live in NY (I wish), I live in NJ. Happy Hallowe'en!

Mabs, I would go with the VW class over the other one, but that's just my personal preference.

At the May concert I spent a LOT of time at the entrance where the band come in/out, so I know where it is. Happy Hallowe'en! I'm hoping to actually see them this time!

Good luck with those internships, Mabs! I'm sure you'll get one.

I really have no choice but to take a night class. It's either that, Chaucer, or nix the 60s, which I'm not going to do. I've always got at least one night class, so that's really not a big deal. I don't have class on Friday either (never have). So this'll leave me 3 days open for an internship.

I haven't sent anything to TW. I've just sent out NLC, Conan, and then my prof. was supposed to send my resume over to his contact at HBO (that was a week ago, and I haven't heard anything). Surprise, surprise. I've got to re-scour entertainmentcareers.net to see if there's anything else of interest. I'd be perfectly content w/ one of those 3 though! *fingers crossed*...*toes too* (just in case)

Pat, we'll play it by ear w/ the DVDs. I'm not even sure if I'll have them in hand by the time you're here. But if I do, sending them w/ you would probably be the best bet. I'd be able to get them to you, sans mail, then you'd be able to have a copy of everything, incase something happened to them when you send them back to me. It'd be a pain in the ass to have to have you copy them again, but at least there'd be a complete set there! If they don't get here in time, I think my friend at AMC can make copies at work...I think. If she can, I'd probably have her chip away at copying them and then send those out to you.

I just watched Kill Bill Pt. 2 last night so I'm in that state of mind. (No O-ren Iishi pics tonight, sorry Patty! Happy Hallowe'en!)

Oh right, #1, it slipped my mind that you saw the May show already! Duh! And, uh...how much is "a lot" of time by the entrance??

Mabs, I haven't used the Prada yet either, but I'm thinking I'll crack it out tonight along with my matching red leather jacket. That Coach one...I'm so sad! Out of EVERYTHING I was drawing attention to so I could bargain a lower price, why didn't I look more closely at the stitching and seams on the INSIDE of the bag? The lining that connects the flap to the back is now wearing thin, and the right strap holder is cracking. So much for "quality leather"! ("Go to Macy's and spend $300, you want real leather!")

How far's the train from NJ to NY, Claire?

BTW, looks like date's not happening until 9:30 tonight, so I've got more time to kill!

It's about an hour train ride to the city from Elphie's place...right on through Secaucus!!! YEAH!!! My favorite, favorite name of a city, EVER! I shall curse Bono w/ the dreaded Secaucus if he doesn't come out and sign in November!

I thought we looked at the lining of the Coach bag, and it looked decent? Maybe that was one of the many others we passed on?! Happy Hallowe'en! Maybe you'll have more luck w/ the Prada!

Secaucus? Are you serious? I can't believe some of the ker-azy NJ names. Isn't there something like Bangaho or Woody Peak or something strangely erotic?

And Tiff, isn't that the craziest name. It seriously sounds like a disease. "I'm sorry, Jimmy. I'm afraid it's worse than we thought. I hate to break it to you, but...you've got Secaucus."

I am probably seeing both this week so it isn't too pressing. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is easily a top 10 favorite actor for me.

I think I am just going to let it be a game time decision for me and we'll see what type of mood I am in when I walk up to the ticket counter. I've actually never done that before.

HAHA! Secaucus! Whenever I'm on the train now, I can't help but laugh when it goes through Secaucus. Happy Hallowe'en!

How much is a lot of time? Hm...well, I went into the city pretty early that day to hang out with the guy who sold me my ticket. I think we ended up staying outside MSG before the show for about 2 hours waiting for the band to come out (we got there right after they went in for a soundcheck, and they never came out). But we were talking, so it didn't seem like we were waiting that long. And then after the show I waited for about 45 minutes before I had to catch my train. So almost 3 hours waiting.

And yeah, there are some crazy Jersey names.

Pat, if you're dead set on hearing the trainwreck that is "In My Life", I don't know if you were following one of the threads on the main board (the what?), but there's a 40% discount code for it: MLPBE92

I don't know if it expires by the time your trip comes around though.

Oh, I would also go to Capote, just because I, too, am a PSH fan. (I even watched Love, Liza for chrissakes, and didn't hold it against him...much.)

Mabs, how is it pronounced? "See-caw-cuss"???

BRB - gotta take a shower and de-uglify myself before dinner!

(My face has broken out and looks like a Pizza Hut extra pepperoni personal pan pizza!)

ETA: You hung out with the guy who sold you your ticket? Did you pay face or above? Wouldn't that be awkward?? How did you guys know each other?

It's pronounced Seh-caw-cuss. It sounds like a disease, no? Elphie, when I was waiting for my friend at Penn for the Coldplay concert, I heard several trains announced "First stop Secaucus," and I couldn't help but laugh to myself. People must have thought I was crazy!

I didn't think Love Liza was so terrible, Tiff. I even listened to the audio commentary. There's a beyond charming moment where PSH gets a phone call from his girlfriend, and he leaves, comes back, and says something about how she was expecting/that he was so giddy to be a dad. Aaawwwww!!!

I don't know how long we waited on Monday. It was like 3+ hours. Well, I waited for about 3 hours (eh, maybe it was less). I had a record trip from my place to MSG (like 7 minutes). Seriously though. If I knew they were coming out, I'd wait a ridiculously long time for them. I'm pretty sure I'll never get Larry, but I at least want Bono and Edge, dammit! And j'adore Adam, so I need him, then that damn Larry would be the only one missing! Arg! I'd be more than content w/ Bono and Edge though. C'mon boys! Me, you, and Claire, November 21st! It's a date!!!

Yep, I hung out with the guy who sold me my ticket. We met on U2tours.com where he was selling it (for face value), and we used to talk online all the time (before we met in person). He even upgraded my ticket when he found a better one for sale! I haven't talked to him in forever because I don't use AIM here (too slow). I should get him to find me some U2 tickets, he's good at selling/trading them! He had, like, 5 tickets for the May MSG show, and I went around with him delivering his extras to people who bought them and finding buyers for some of them.

Mabs, it's a date! We're gonna meet the boys no matter what.
