Sorry that it didn't work out, Tiff.
Look on the bright side, you've always got us.
I ended up seeing Capote last night. I enjoyed it. I put a little entry about it in my BWW blog which I am trying to make a point to use if any of you guys feel so compelled. It isn't anything groundbreaking, but it's a start.
I am hoping to see North Country and Good Night and Good Luck this week, but considering I've only been to the movies twice this year, it might be a bit ambitious to go 3 times in a week. We'll see. I am trying to get over my budding case of agoraphobia.
Oh, and thanks for the In My Life coupon code info, Tiff.
I had an email sent about as well, but I am hoping to get student rush and sit front row for this wonderful piece of theatre history If not, I'll probably look into SRO or TKTS that day.
I really want to try and see it for $25ish rather than $45ish though.

So, I come back from class, w/ my takeout from Yip's Chinese takeout (after someone stole mine at the register, and I had to go back and get my food again!) and I come into the apt, lights off (as I left them) only to find what in my kitchen you may ask? A roach? Nope. A mouse? Good try, but still no. The Boyfriend!!! I came in, said, "Hey," assuming my roommate was in the bathroom or in the bedroom or something, put my food down on the coffee table, took off my coat, and I hear "I was just getting some rice" and the door closing. Ummm...okay. So, I get up, check the bathroom: empty. The bedroom: empty. WTF?!?!? How the F*CK did he get in here? Ummm...NO! Did she let him in and leave him here? Leave the door ajar for him? Find out the door combo (we have cards to swipe in, but the doors also have combinations that they give you if your card stops working for some reason) so that he can let himself in?!? What the hell, man! Not cool. At all. Is this a regular thing, and I just happened to "catch" him this time? Grrrr!!
Glad you liked Capote, Pat. Hey, if I can see 3 movies in one afternoon, surely you can catch at least one more this week!
Ugh, that's totally uncool and frankly kind of creepy.
I'd say it's time for a sit down discussion.
You know, the vibe I was getting from them when they were together was that he's just a really socially inept guy. I wouldn't even take it personally anymore. When he was playing videogames with your roomie, even, they didn't really talk or do any lovey-dovey stuff (perhaps they save that for the spooning later?). I think they're both sort of only in the relationship so they can be in a relationship, because there was certainly no sparks flying and they both just seem so...well, *AN* (what we'll call Nicole's roomie* is nice, but she's not particularly friendly, and neither of them even conversed with each other! I suppose it's more a situation of birds-a-feather..., you know? I doubt this is making any sense (rolled outta bed 20 minutes ago...didn't get a good night's sleep. More on that in a mo').
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that his lack of social decency towards you probably isn't personal - I think he's just like that. He's not even all that chatty towards *AN*!
Okay, I had the worst nightmare last night that jolted me up at 6am today. It's one of those things where everything seems so stressful and chaotic in your sleep, and then you wake up with your heart racing with adrenaline but when you recount it, you're going, "I was worked up over THAT?"
So Nic and I are seeing U2, and we've got primo seats by Adam's side. Britney Spears is opening (that wasn't even the scary part), and after she finishes, I realize I've forgotten my camera and I'll need to run out to buy some disposables. I'm already cutting it close but I figure I have until 8:45 to get back to the seat. Suddenly, I'm running (and it's daytime on a country road?) and choose to try the dollar store over the gas station (because it's cheaper) and I ask if they have any disposable cameras, and they point me to a fridge with a frog habitat in it. But when I get back outside, I can't find the gas station. So I walk back to Nic's university, I'm getting lost trying to retrieve my car from the underground parking, and I keep trying to call Nic so at least I can hear the concert. But she's all, "OHMYGOD!! They're playing Mofo! They're playing Mofo! And they just pulled Bo Derek and Marc Kudisch up on stage!" (Bo Derek? Marc Kudisch??) and then she hangs up on me. I get to my car, and someone's stolen all of the tires and suspended the car from wires. Then these policemen think I was the culprit, and try to take me down to the station, but I'm begging them to let me just go to the concert instead while in the meantime, Nicole keeps hanging up on me after screaming the name of the song and saying that she doesn't want to get charged long-distance. (Even though I'm the one calling her!! That wench.) So I try to catch a subway back to MSG, exxcept my leg slips in between the platform and the train, but I stick my arm in, expecting the door to re-open for me so I can hop in. But it doesn't, and I'm being dragged uptown by my limbs.
And then I woke up, really pissed off at Nic for some reason. The odd thing is I was more upset about the fact that I was missing the opening (because I must've simply been DYING to hear some of the lamer HTDAAB songs again and again and again...) than I was about Britney opening OR the frog habitat in the fridge.

Or, you know, being dragged uptown by your limbs...
Poor Tiff!!
It was totally nightmarish. Cold sweats and everything. I jolted up, totally pissed at Mabel and was going to log on here to tell her how dare she blow me off and not let me listen to the show, but my exhaustion prevented me from it. It wasn't until I woke up later that I realized what an idiot I was.

I'm glad you realized it was a dream before you completely flipped out. Eek!
Such a cute moment from the video! But I'm missing Gale a little bit. He may be re-appearing!

Mmmmm, that's all I need! I finally have every episode from season one. I'm at episode 14 or 15 at the moment. Still missing a few from the middle of season two. And I refuse to move on to season four until I've seen the rest. SO HARD!

I was at the mall this weekend, and there were Christmas displays set up in some stores... right across the aisle from the Halloween displays. I brought my Christmas CD's with me back to school this time, too. Kenny and Dolly!
I literally only have 2 seconds here, but I have huge news.
MABS, I GOT THE PACKAGE TODAY!!!
Details later!
Hooray, Patty! Should we reinstill our faith in USPS now?
Happy Chinese New Year, Ellie!
So you're at season 2, Allie? Season 2 is still good. It starts to go downhill around season 3 or so.
Yeah, I'm not even pissed off at them anymore, as much as frustrated with the situation (which, in all honesty, I shouldn't really be, because *knock on wood* they've only been here 1 night since you left, Tiff). But still, there was definitely an odd vibe walking in w/ all the lights off, only to find him camping out in the kitchen. I think if I hadn't been so groggy from being sick the past couple of days, I probably would have screamed. I mean, it wasn't like I came in and saw all the lights on and TV was on, etc. It's all quiet, and quasi-dark, and here I go, swinging into the kitchen to grab a fork and "AAAHHHHH!!!" Whatever. They are totally bizarre, and I suppose I can just leave it at that. Definitely seem very anti-social (and I thought I was bad), even w/ each other. You know, Tiff, you're right! I don't think I've ever really seen them chatting. Whenever they're here, they're either playing video games or watching TV in silence. I think the extent of their convos can pretty much be summed up w/ "Dude, do you want some mac and cheese?" or "Hey, there's nothing on TV. Oh wait, there's always Cartoon Network, right, dude." I honestly don't think I've ever heard him call her by her first name, and I've only heard her call him by his maybe twice all semester! Strange, strange stuff.
Anyway, speaking of strange stuff. What's up w/ that dream, Tiff!?! Very, very strange. Isn't it weird when you have such a vivid dream that you are positive it really happened when you wake up? I had a dream last year that there was a Food Emporium a couple of blocks away, and like 2 days later, when I went out grocery shopping, I actually went that way, and thought "Hey, what happened to the Food Emporium?...Oh wait, there isn't one!" It was really strange, and very disconcerting.
Oh, and there was some guy on craigslist last night that was giving away an acoustic guitar, and for a minute there, I was convinced that it was fate after our little convo last night. This morning he hadn't replied and his post was deleted. I think that's more in line w/ the fate I had in store! I actually had a sort of half-dream type thing last night (you know when you're kind of asleep, but not totally) that I made a sign for the Houston song (somehow I managed to get GA and got scanned into the elipse) and they assumed that it meant I wanted to play it, so the security guy just snagged me and threw me up on the stage, and Dallas Schoo plopped one of Edge's acoustic guitars on me, and Edge gave me his guitar pick, and there I was stuck on stage, and I had to whisper to Bono that I really can't play the guitar, I just wanted them to play the song. And just as quickly as they tossed me up there, they yanked the guitar off me, and tossed me back into the crowd. And everyone around me in GA was pissed at me. I don't know why. I don't really remember what happened after that, but I don't think it was like "Well since this chick ruined the moment, we're just calling it quits now. Bye." But they were definitely pissed at me.
And yes! Happy Chocolate Discount Day!!! What a glorious day it is!

Season 2 of what, Allie?
Did I miss anything interesting in the last three or four pages, by the way? I suppose I could go back and look, but that involves effort. And as you all know, I don't believe in effort.
*vegetates*
And did y'all see about Maria Friedman having breast cancer surgery? And she'll be back before opening night! Amazing. Let's hope she won't need any further treatment. Poor Maria.
WHAT THE F*CK, PAT?!?!?!?!? Eeeee!!!! Well, I guess you can keep all those then (assuming the B+P goes through)! Or maybe at some point, you can make some copies and send stuff to Tiff/Ellie/Claire if they want anything. I think Tiff's got most of the stuff by now, though. Though I think you may still need to send back copies of the theatre stuff...But whatever, we'll figure that out later...HOOORAAAAYYYY!!!!!

I've already seen all of season three (Queer As Folk, Ellie), so I'm going backwards before I go forward!
I don't think you really missed anything, Ellie. Tiff, Claire, and I had a lengthy discussion last night about learning to play a song on acoustic guitar to get plucked up at a U2 concert, hence my long rant about my dream last night.
Pat went to the movies last night rather than doing Halloween-type stuff (a rarity for him).
Tiff had a date last night that was kind of ehh.
Elphie's got crazy layovers coming back from NZ, but it'll all be worth it because she's got a crazy week planned once she finally gets back (including many trips through Secaucus).
Aaaand, my room apparently now has an open door policy for my roommate's bf, unbeknownst to me!
Nothing too exciting El. I had a fizzle-dead date yesterday (the weird thing is we're both so different but we really get each other and we have good chemistry - I think he's more best-guy-friend material than bf material), I might line up a date with a HOTTIE guy this weekend (OMFG he's hot - I'm just in awe) and my 3 personal statements are due today at 11:59pmEST and I, er, haven't started.
And Mabel's gotta choose her lit classes. (You'd probably be the best one to help her on that - deciding btwn Woolf/Bloomsbury and "Early Modern Women's Lit" - "early" being 16-17th century. If that still classifies as "modern", what's considered "late classical"? Cave man etchings??)

Well, a fizzle-dead dull date is better than a truly hellish date, so for that you must be thankful. Were you comfortable enough to pig out?
An ahh yes, Allie, QAF. The chap who used to be your avatar. I'm with you now.
What are you leaning towards at the moment, Mabs? I'd definitely go with the Woolf/Bloomsbury. Don't you find Early Modern Women's Lit to be so booooooooooring? Like, coma-inducing.
Oh yeah, that was a big portion, Ellie. I'm trying to help Nic and Claire decide which guitar tabs to learn for when they get pulled up by Bono next month. I say I Will Follow since it's only, like, three easy chords for chrissake, but Nic's inclination is she's of better use playing perhaps a tambourine?

I'm leaning towards VW. I really don't have a hell of a lot of interest in either. Though I may have slightly more interest in VW, I've had the prof before, and he was kind of stuffy. *shrug*
And I agree, if you got a potential "best-guy-friend" out of last night, that's certainly nothing to sneeze at. I know it's not what you were looking for, but it's not like it was a total train wreck (though those can certainly be amusing in their own right and provide good fodder for funny stories).
Next month, Tiff?!?! It's in less than 3 weeks! I think I need to go and find myself a triangle. Thanks for the suggestion, El. Definitely more up my alley!
Broadway Legend Joined: 9/20/04
Oh, I know all about stuffy profs. Well, one in particular, and trust me, he's true evil. And he hates me. I hope he burns.
Yeah, VW's not the most exciting option either. Maybe you should consider not what you have most interest in, but which you'll most easily be able to absorb and spew back out onto an exam paper.
