Yeah, sounds kinda legit. If he really is new, I pity him dealing with such a scary seller, who despite what he was told, is a scalper.
Plus - didn't he spell Sascatchewan incorrectly? Unless you were lying to me the other night, which you probably were. Ho.
Tiff, he sounds legit...Everyone's gotta have a first purchase on eBay, right? But then again, what was up w/ "Saskatoon"??? Hmmm...

Oh, and Mabel -
'How U2 Wiped Me Out: The Type_A_Tiff Story' - I wouldn't buy it. Snoozzzzzze. Catchy title though!
Awwww, thanks! I try. Oh and you wouldn't have to buy it, Ellie. It has Lifetime Original written all over it (well, the title at least). They could throw in a drug addiction, and poor lil Tiff begging for food on the street.

Who'd play Tiff though?
John Candy? Dead.
Chris Farley? Dead.
Babaar? Animation.
Harvey Fierstein? OK!
Babaar!!! AHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
If I could come up w/ something amusing to Have ol' Harvey say, I'd put it, but I'm at a loss...

Well, there'd be no need for him to say anything amusing - he's playing Tiff, remember?
This is true...Harvey saying "Oh no, I blew all my money on those wiley Irishmen" in all his raspy glory would be amusing!
Update, I think I may have tix! Guess I probably just jinxed it, but I'm excited!

Just bumping my favorite thread because it was at the bottom of the second page!
I'm going to see Matt Pond PA tonight and I'm really excited. Anyone else like them?

I love Matt Pond PA!!
Who are they?
*sigh* Ah, Ellie, you poor musically-uneducated thing. They're a great up-and-coming band.
Do you watch The O.C.? If you do, in the episode The Rainy Day Women, in the last scene (the Spiderman scene), Matt Pond PA's cover of Champagne Supernova is playing (can you tell I'm obsessed with The O.C.?) . It's a really good cover. They've got some other great songs, but I don't think you'd know them. They're not famous yet, but they will be.

Champagne Supernova, the Oasis song?
*thinks about Bono frenching whatshisname*
The OC? Yeah, sometimes - I saw the Thrills on it, and a couple of other good bands. No famous bands ever play at my local beer-house.
I know! The Killers, Modest Mouse, and Rooney have all appeared on the show. Lucky kids.
And yes, the Oasis song.
Hmmm...I've never heard of them Elphie, but I hope you have a great time! Let us know how it goes (shall we just make this the official concert/music, etc. thread?!?)
Just got back from the Red Sox/Yanks game and then straight to class...I'm spent! WOOOHOOO!!! SO PSYCHED THE SOX WON!!!!

The OC is as bad as Ally McBeal in that sense - I mean, they'd have Tina Turner, Elton John, Macy Gray, Al Green, Barry Manilow etc. all play at their bar, and they'd never even bat an eyelid!
Anyway, off now - I hope not to see this languishing at the bottom of the second page again!
GO SOX!!!
Or don't, it's up to them, I suppose.

And where do I find this thread???
Very disappointing, gals.
*shakes head sadly*
I was leaving it up to you gals, I was at the concert! Which was amazing, by the way. Although they wouldn't play Champagne Supernova, even though everyone was shouting for it (because everyone at my school is obsessed with The O.C. and they only know the band because of that song). They did, however, play their song New Hampshire, which is my favorite song of theirs. You all should listen to it sometime, it's absolutely beautiful. And I was in the front row, literally less than five feet away from Matt Pond himself. I'm still recovering from that. So that is why I was not here to bump the thread.
Hey...I was the only one around last night...What was I supposed to do, keep bumping it up? Have a convo w/ myself?!?! It is a group effort to keep threads alive, you know!
Glad you had fun Elph! I'll have to check them out (a song called New Hampshire?!?!? Hmmmm...As much as I loathed living there when I was growing up, I'll always have a soft spot for good ol' NH!)
Edit w/ Spoilers below: So, either stop readign Ellie, or no bitching from you!
They played THE OCEAN at last night's U2 show!!! First time since 1982, I guess! CRAZY! It's like a 1:30 song though (hardly seems a fair trade off for both An Cat Dubh and Into the Heart...didn't really see anything else added (other than a snippet of Unchained Melody after One)
Oh my god, they did the Unchained Melody cover? *needs to change pants*
I was just listening to the B-sides non-stop last night and this morning, thinking of how much I absolutely adore Bono on the cover! OMFG...if--er, ONCE he serenades me with that on stage in Seattle...my life's complete.
*hugs thread* I missed you!
Ooh, that's so exciting mabel! I can't wait any longer to see them!
I'm guessing it was just a mini-snippet at the end, since it said "One-Unchained Melody" but I guess a little's better than nothing, right? Personally (from what I've heard) I like the snippet of Knocking on Heaven's Door the best w/ One.
Yeah, the thread's taken a bit of a beating the past couple of nights. How'd your crazy work load from yesterday go, Tiff (and how were those Jellicles?!? Did ya just love them and want to bring one home w/ you. "A jellicle cat can wear a hat. A jellicle cat takes tit for tat." God, I enjoy Mario Cantone!)
*deep romantic sigh*
It's not enough that Bono's gorgeous, intelligent, an amazing lyricist, and has a killer voice. He also has to be a humanitarian and start programs like this. Have I mentioned how much I love him?

And yes, even a snippet of Unchained Melody is a good thing. I do also like the version of One with Knocking on Heaven's Door, though.
Have you seen anything about Ali's clothing line (I know Bono's been at press stuff for it, but I'm not sure how involved he is in the venture, other than lending his name/voice). It's called Edun, and it's a line of organically made clothing that advocates fair trade, etc. I actually really like the clothes...pity they're so damned expensive. Those Hewsons! Good looking, talented, and do-gooders!
