Yeah, there was a great article in Vogue about it. I just wish I could afford some of their clothes!
I know! I really, really like them. Ahhh, if only I were rich! I love that the pockets of their jeans say "You should always have a poem in your pocket."
Apparent EDUN is the brand that's designing those tour tees, hence those exhorbitant prices! Bono's got such good taste - couldn't he have had more say in nicer tees this time 'round? Even the hard core interference fans who've spent thousands on tickets are balking at $35/shirt! (And $90 "vintage"? Please.)
I think One with Knocking On Heaven's Door would be amazing. Maybe a medley of those two PLUS Unchained Melody? Oh man...when he belts that, "I....(high note)NEED...your love..." I writhe in my seat.
Crazy work load from yesterday was brutal. I planted my ass on front of the comp from the early evening until this morning at 8:30am (and was really good at staying offa here for the duration!) and didn't sleep. :-/ I've got suitcases under my eyes now.
Cats was...what I expected it would be, so I wasn't disappointed, at least. The choreography had the potential to be amazing. That's the best thing I can say about it.
Oh, and the fella who plays Rum Tum Tugger...*drool* My eyebrows shot up when he sauntered on stage.
I muttered to my mom: I've never been turned on by a feline before.
Mom: Tiff, get your hand off my knee. You're gross.
And Skimbleshanks was packin' some, which was fantastic. And that's pretty much all the good things I can say about it. I have that goddamn JELLicles can and jelliCLES DO, jelliCLES can and jellicles DO, jellicles DO and jellcles CAN---GAH!!!
Did you know Hunter Foster played Rum Tum Tugger on the tour way back when? I saw the show on tour when I was like 6 (I think I read somewhere I played it in 91/2, so it totally could have been him)...Damn, I wish I had the Playbill, so I could see who played it! Even though I have NO memory of the show other than being in the balcony and being pissed that the cats were running around and molesting the people "down below."
Sorry to hear last night totally blew. Did you at least get most of your SH*T done? I can't just sit and get stuff done like that. I've always done well in school and everything, but I feel like (and especially lately) I've got ADD tendencies. If I'm reading something that's even quasi-boring, I have to take a mini-break between chapters or switch to something else. It's sad. I've also developed what I've dubbed "numeric dyslexia." I swear, ever since I've officially finished taking math at school, I've gotten numerically dyslexic. I invert digits on phone #'s and fax #'s so much it's pathetic!

I saw that too Ellie! I'd rather them play in NYC, but I'm tempted to venture to NJ...hmmmm. What day of the week is the 1st? I forget and don't have a calandar in front of me. (being too lazy to look back at TM goes w/o saying)

I really wanted to see them in NYC, but for some reason they left it off their regular tour. So I got tix for Atlantic City instead - that's just as good, right??
Uhm...well, at least it's not Reno!
*scratches armpit*
*sniffs*
I'm exhausted. Off for now, ladies and Ellie! Will be back online when I wake up!

Off for another narco bout, are ya? Y'old lady, ya.
Have a lovely sleep!
A neverending sleep!
*cackles*
*stirs cauldron*
Yeah, I was really pissed about them not playing NYC. It seems kind of random. Have they already played Atlantic City? Be sure to let us know how it was/is, if you haven't gone yet.
Are you ladies tempted to try for NJ? (I need another concert to buy tix to like a hole in the head!) Elph, will you be around at the beginning of September or will you have already gone to Australia? Just a thought...

No, Atlanic City's at the end of this month!! Woohoo!
Ooooohhhh...It's all GA, isn't it? Are you getting there super early, or just taking what you get an hour or so before?
I wonder what there concerts'll be like in support of American Idiot. Will they just play the whole album straight through w/ an encore of older songs, or just mix it up like a regular concert??? Hmmm...

I figure we'll just barge our way to front, leaving a trail of injuries in our wake. Plus Billie'll want me up the front - I'm his lover, y'know. (See signature.)
And I am SURE that the show will be FAB!! I hear that they pretty much do all of AI, but don't leave out any of the old classics either, like Good Riddance, Basket Case etc. PLUS they do a couple of super-exciting covers, like Queen's We Are The Champions! WOO!
Edit - and yes, knowing that does spoil it for me a little, but what are you gonna do?

Sounds like good times! I'm almost tempted to try to go in September, but I really wish they'd just do a gig in NYC. Come on boys. Ellie, tell your boy he needs to schedule a show in the city pronto!

Where exactly is Giants Stadium located, again? Not too far away, I don't think. Right?
But don't worry, Mabs, I'll pass on your message tonight, when I see him in my bed.
I really wish I could go, but I'll be gone by then. I leave July 2nd. And now I'm going to New Zealand (I decided on that instead of Australia). So I'll be halfway around the world freezing my butt off on September 1st.
If anyone wants to come see The Killers with me on June 4th in Central Park, though, let me know! I have no real friends. (Not really, they're just dorks who don't know good music when they hear it. And my one cool friend backed out.)

Why'd you switch from Oz to NZ? Don't tell me you're a Lord of the Rings freak!
And I love the Killers! Sadly, I don't think I'll be near NYC in June. Is it a free concert?
And pah, your friends have no taste!
*puts on Celine CD*
Oh good...glad to hear you're on it!
I'm not really sure where Giants Stadium is/how far it is/how (in)convenient it is to get there...no idea. Something to look into, I suppose. I wish the tix'd go on sale in like July or something after I'd had a chance to recoup some $$.
Elphie, how much is the Killers concert? Did you ever find out any info on the venue (if there are seats or if it's GA)??
Side Note: I'm so jealous about your trip to New Zealand!!! I've never been out of the country. I really want to just take all of next summer off (after I graduate) and just trek around Europe for 3 months.
Oh, trekking around Europe sounds amazing. I'm a travel freak, I've been to 6 continents and am planning on going to the seventh (Antarctica) as soon as I can.
Tiff, I chose NZ for a lot of reasons; being a LOTR freak is not one of them! I've been to Australia before and I've never been to NZ. I like the school there that I'm going to, I think it has a lot more to offer me than Melbourne. The more I looked into it, the more I liked it.
Mabel, I haven't found out anymore info about The Killers concert! There's seriously nothing on it. All their other concerts are on TicketMaster, but this one's not. I'll keep looking.

Who you callin' Tiff??????!?!??!?!
Never have I been so insulted.
Well, let me know if you find out anything about it. I'm not a *huge* Killers fan, but I do like them, and if the price was right, I'd be interested in going. I'd have to train it into the city, but that'd be cool. Looks like I'll be working at West Point again this summer. It's not exactly what I want to be doing, but it pays well (would certainly be a help in financing my dream European summer!).
I was hoping to dig up an internship in the city, but the apt hunt's not looking overly promising (both expense-wise and potential roommate-wise...My friends are either commuters who are already living at home, or just have no interest in the commitment of getting an apartment). I'm hoping my internship in Production at One Life to Live pans out in the fall (I had it all set for the spring, but had to pass on it due to schedule conflicts). I have no desire to work in soaps, but I would love to work in film or TV, and a start is a start!
Elphie, I'm so jealous of all your traveling ventures! I don't know what I'd really do if I decide to go through w/ my summer in Europe. I don't know if I could find someone who'd be willing to go for that long, but I feel like: Hey, I've never been. I totally want to live it up and do as much as I can, because once I get a job and have to officially handle being off on my own, it's probably going to be a hell of a long time before I can afford to go (time and money wise). My mom went when she was 19 or so, and just kicked around on her own for months. I'd love to do that, just meet who I meet and play it all by ear, but I don't think I'm quite as daring as she is (that and the world's just a straight up different place now, so it probably wouldn't be the best idea). Oh well, I have a year to figure it out!...All I know is if I go, I want to GO. I almost went to London for Christmas w/ a friend who goes all the time, but it was only going to be for a week. I couldn't handle that. I mean, if you're in London, it's just a hop across the Channel to Paris. And Scotland's right there (I'm Scottish and French, so I'd really want to visit both countries). A week just wouldn't cut it. Not by a long shot!
Wow, this got LOOOONG!

Mabel, I know how you feel.
Although I have been to Europe before. But only on strictly controlled school trips, or with my parents when I was way younger. I'd love to trek around on my own. Just buy a rail ticket, and see where the train takes me. *sigh* And I'd love to take the Orient Express from Venice to Istanbul...y'know, like in Agatha Christie's Murder on the.... Although I'd hope there'd be no murders!!
Unless...Tiff - wanna come?
