And as we've discussed in the past, the US has socialized healthcare in the form of Medicare and Medicaid and neither Democrat nor Republican has been been able to make it work.

You need to define, "make it work" what does that mean exactly?

Are you speaking of delivery of services? Cost efficacy? Ease of enrollment? What? Simply saying that something doesn't work without saying why isn't much of a rebuttal.

I haven't been to a doctor or dentist in over a year. I'm lucky nothing has happened to me to require it, but that's my constant fear.

There's nothing stopping your grandmother from seeing a doctor that's closer, is there? If the inconvenience out weighs going to a physician who takes Medicare why doesn't she use one that's closer? It's not the government who's making it more difficult for your grandmother, it's the physicians who don't take Medicare. You want it both ways it seems. You want your grandmother to be able to take advantage of Medicare, yet you want to blame the government because it's not as convenient as you'd like. It's not convenient for me to walk 10 blocks to the Post Office...do I get to blame the government for that too.
