Don't be too upset. If it's 3D Michael Keaton you're after, Warner Bros. is putting out GUNG HO in 4D Smell-a-vision next Christmas.

Actually, it's Teri Garr I'm after. I'm hoping for a Criterion release of Oh, God! with deleted scenes and director's commentary.

Sandy Duncan and I can barely contain ourselves.
We are both blind in one eye so 3D does not exist for us. It is a concept. I lost my eye at age 6 so I have no real memory of binocular vision. Have I missed anything?
The film must rise or fall by being a good film and not by being a technicological or optical experience.
Spoiler Alert: The ship sinks and lots of people (Leo, Victor Garber) die. The movie is stolen by a quiet 8 minute performance given by a then 87 year old woman.

Any who, I just found out today; I don't know how I feel about this. What are they gonna do? Only the beginning, jumping scene, and end in 3D?
I hope it's offered in 2D as well.

Don't plan to see it in 3D, but I'm glad it's being re-released on the anniversary.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for an expanded version. There was a lot of speculation 10 years ago or so when the first DVD came out that Cameron would create his director's cut for it, so much so that he finally issued a public statement that the theatrical cut was the director's cut and the film would not be changed.
It's possible he's changed his mind since then but the 3D edition and the Blu-ray have both been in production for several years and I think word would have leaked out by now if there were a new cut.
Most of the unused scenes did appear as extras on the two DVD editions and first appeared on a 3 CD-Rom set in 1997 called "James Cameron's Titanic Explorer."

Unless they completely changed the story to something more historic and plausible, I'll be skipping this and any director's cut. Some good music and special effects, but The Poseidon Adventure was better.

The old couple in bed about to die is still makes sad to this day. Also, at the end of the trailer you hear Jack say to Rose, "Don't let go of my hand!" Then you hear Rose say, "I'll never let go."
I still can't believe that there are some people, including my brothers, who thought she meant she'll let go of him so he wouldn't drown, when she really meant that she will never let go of the promise she made to him to survive that night and live a good life.

It opens on April 6, one week before the 100th anniversary of the actual sinking. I wonder if they'll have extra showings on the night of the 14th/early morning of the 15th.

I saw the trailer in 3D when I went to see Hugo, and I was far more impressed with what they've been able to do technically than I ever thought I would be. It really looks incredible, and with very few minor exceptions, it doesn't look like the film was shot in 2D and then converted to 3D. The amount of work and detail (and money) in each shot, at least in the trailer, was pretty astounding.
It's definitely pushing the boundaries of what is possible with a 2D-to-3D conversion.
I went from a skeptic to being one who will buy a ticket and see this again when it hits theatres (and icebergs) in April.

... and word of mouth is that "The Wizard of Oz," which is being pulled from shelves in a couple of months, will have a 3D release in theatres and on home video in late 2013 in time for its 75th anniversary in 2014.

Leo first said that it wanted to make him quit acting due to being a teenage heartthrob, "It was pretty disheartening to be objectified like that.
