Neither did "Forever," which apparently everyone was shocked about. I saw social media going crazy over the announcement.

I think Mindy might get picked up by Hulu. Super excited about The Muppets

However Fox cancelled one of my favorite shows, THE FOLLOWING and CBS cancelled what I thought was one of the best new series this year, STALKER. Networks cancel pretty much any new series now immediately if they don't, right out the gate, become the hottest new thing on TV. The days of a show having time to gain an audience are long gone and that's SUCH a shame.

Can't wait for The Muppets...it seems like a funny and interesting way of doing it, and I can already anticipate an episode centering around wether or not Kermit and Miss Piggy are actually married. Lol.

RE: The Mindy Project and The Following. Both shows are being shopped by their producing studios to other distributors. I have to imagine either Amazon, Netflix or Hulu will pick up at at least The Mindy Project.
Fox announced this morning that American Idol will finally be cancelled next season. It's going to be their 15th and final one. It had been limping on long enough. Good to put it out of its misery.
Surprised that NBC's One Big Happy Family was cancelled. They did not give that much time at all. Also surprised about them renewing The Mysteries of Laura. I know the critics hated it, but it seems like the fans pushed hard enough.

The hubby and I are disappointed about Constantine and hope it gets picked up someplace else. Happy about Arrow, Flash, and Gotham renewals. (Don't really watch Agent Carter or Agents of SHIELD.)
Also a bit disappointed that The Messengers was cancelled, but at least, from what I've read, they're going to finish out the season.
Looking forward to Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow.
Doesn't seem to be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm looking forward to the second season of Extant in July.
Definitely want to check out Blindspot, Heroes Reborn, and The Muppets.
Between cable, network, streaming-only, seems that more and more there's too much to watch and too little time to fit it all in! I guess that's what catch-up binging is for.

I'm a huge fan of THE FOLLOWING and even as graphic as that show can be, I think that's a show that can certainly benefit from being on another platform like HULU or NETFLIX where they can go even further than they've been allowed to go so far.

The publications I read this morning were mentioning that Warner Brothers was continuing to shop it. That would have been a really quick development, if accurate. Oh, well.

With 90% of broadcast TV being absolute swill, I could care less about what's returning or getting the ax (no offense ehhh... everyone in this thread), but I am very curious to hear NYadgal's thoughts on the week.
NYadgal - would love to hear about your upfronts experience this week. Any interesting trends you see emerging? New technologies, ad platforms, branding partnerships, distribution partnerships, outreach to cord-cutters, nods to the country's rapidly changing demos etc, continuing influence of cable and online outlets?

This probably deserves its own thread, but I thought I'd post it here. ABC decided to pick up The Real O'Neals for series. I am pleasantly surprised. Hope it survives... looks somewhat promising and it ruffles the feathers of conservatives, so there's that.

Actually Jordan.. I think at times they are a little more patient than they should be. Look at Undateable . Except for maybe Mindy Project... ,most shows that got cancelled were clunkers.

I'm disappointed that NBC cancelled MARRY ME. Their fall season looks laughable. It's like, "how many shows can we produce about a woman who manages to have a great career AND a personal life?"
THE REAL O'NEALS actually looks promising.
