"Well, I don't trust anyone the size of a whale and living on land."

oh well now THAT'S a mature and pointed argument. Wow. I think you just trumped me. I'm going to go burn my copies of F9/11 and BFC because that was just like the most absolutely shattering argument.

Moore's films are popular because they're ENTERTAINING. Bowling for Columbine was more captivating than about 70% of the movies that I saw that year and Fahrenheit 9/11 had its share of compelling moments. Most importantly, however, he explains things in such a manner so that the dimmest audience member is not left in the dark. This is the key to his success.

and bully for him. He deserved that Oscar and he's gonna keep making money, winning awards, and exposing the lies of this world whether you like it or not. God bless a brave man who will do that in the darkness of all that is happening in this country today.

It WAS the worst documentary that I've ever seen. I wasn't making a generalization. The fact that Moore has won awards is entirely pointless to me. Bestowing awards is a meaningless act. It has nothing to do with quality. And it certainly has nothing to do with what I happen to like.

Well, I like to add some humor otherwise I am likely to go insane.

Anyway, Michael Moore is out for the money. But you wouldn't know this since you never dealt on his business side.

And, to finish this off, if Michael Moore ALWAYS tells the truth, why won't he debate someone?

Because once he goes face to face with someone, he will be trashed and left in the dumps. He won't see what hit him, and will not recover.

Might I add, he will probably be finished.

Does any one here watch The Daily Show with Jon Stewart?

It's very funny AND very honest.

I'm not in the mood to get in a heated discussion about politics...It's Sunday evening.

And just who ISN'T in it for the money in the BUSINESS?

But, stretch on that all you like. And he has debated people--he's even been on O'Reilly. But the more important fact is that it isn't necessary for him to debate people. He isn't a politician. He's a film maker.

And, CM2--you are certainly entitled to your opinion, and I respect that. I thought it was a fantastic documentary. whoop dee do eh?

interesting you don't mention being upset by the fact (if it is indeed true) that one of the the ONLY flights allowed to fly was that which took members of the Bin Laden family OUT of the US....

of course it's biased.........but no more so than the crap the administration tries to make us believe.

It's an excellent and revealing film

Yep, Elphaba, at least it can balance out the other side. And, maybe that is what Capt is seeing--that there may be truths on both sides.

It may be a while before we know for certain if Bush is a good guy or not. If his intentions with Iraq were honest or not. If elections were legit or not. And we may never know some of these things.

I believe he was smashed in his debates...that got rough.

He doesn't NEED to debate? When you make a film that rips apart the very foundation of one of the most powerful countries in the world, you better believe you will have to be able to debate.

Thenardier, who knew you were such a conservative?

Try reading this. The author's not fat.

I'm sorry--WHAT "very foundation" did he rip apart?

He criticized the leadership which is EXACTLY the very foundation of this country--to dissent if you feel that the people in charge are doing wrong.

And he did it BECAUSE he cares about this country.

Oh, I'm not a conservative....I vote for whomever I think is most qualified and that jazz....

But I hate Michael Moore with a passion.

"The author's not fat."

That made me laugh...

DAVID T. HARDY! <---That's who came to the school
"Michael Moore is a big, fat, stupid white man" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0060779608/qid=1121033522/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/103-7183643-2238210?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

And about the title, someone asked Hardy about it and he said it mimics another title and he didn't create it. In fact, his original title was different and changed to the above one to sell more copies.

Pal - in my statements I am not supporting or denying BUSH, I am denying Moore and what he says.

And for the record, Hardy is bald, tall, and skinny.

And Ann Coulter and Michael Moore really need to debate!

Farhenhype 9/11 is on overstock.com and is less than $6 which INCLUDES shipping.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Thanks Capn - definitely look into it.

For another good documentry, that has nothing to do with this, see "Relentless" about the Palestine/Israel debate.

What's worse, it is all true...as people from Israel I met confirmed the details and had NEVER seen the film.

BY THE WAY: Fahrenheit is on TV tonight.

Just because someone (I believe Thenardier?) mentioned it while saying they couldn't remember much about the incident--Michael Moore showed a clip of a "newspaper article" in Fahrenheit 9/11 with the headline "Latest Florida recount shows Gore won election." However, this "newspaper article" was actually a letter to the editor that was edited to make it look like a newspaper article. The paper in question asked for an apology and a dollar of compensation from Michael Moore, who refused, insisting that it was not, in fact, misleading to show letters to the editor as actual newspaper articles. He did, however, apologize for the fact that his invented newspaper article's date was a few weeks off.

First of all let me say that I HATE Bush with a burning passion ! But I happen to disagree with the statement that Moore does everything for his country ! I am sure he has many personal reasons which we don't know and we never will ! He is clearly making politics with his work, I may agree with many things he says, but, call me a cynic, I don't believe that anyone even remotely involved with politics is an idealist !
And though Bush makes me want to puke, the majority of U.S elected him again, which means that he does something right for them. Coming from the country that invented democracy, I have to respect that, even if I find it incomprehensible. Peace
