1. Capn, my last post was at 1:20 AM, I had to go to frickin bed and it was clear that this discussion, though heated and passionate (which many people call "hate" when they get frustrated that somebody has pointed out the holes in their argument [something you praised me for in your appreciation thread]) wasn't going to go anywhere other than you demanding proof that Moore's movie was right or wrong and if it was right your anger at other people for not DOING something about it.

You see, what was frustrating was you criticizing other people for not engaging after you have shown that you have basically flatlined the whole time that others have engaged. Trying to "have a happy life." What you've found in this thread is not hate. Just that ignorance is neither an excuse nor blissful.

2. I like your grandmother.

3. Politics don't cause heart attacks.

4. Thenardier, I am so rubber and you are so glue.

5. "Even turning your back and walking away from what you see, good or bad, is political." Yawper, come sit next to me! I'll get another bendy straw for my soda pop.

6. JRB it's the little things we do together! Where would I be many-a-time without your reality checks. Another bendy straw please, waitron!

"4. Thenardier, I am so rubber and you are so glue."

Who told you? re: WHY is this tolerated? (In response to Fahrenheit 9/11) But seriously, that is your best response once you realized YOU made a mistake?

jrb, I chose not to belive Moore when I went out and did resaerch on what he was saying and found it to be bullcocky.

There are facts and opinions. Moore took the facts and arranged them in such a way to falsely create negative opinions.

What you say is a fact is just your opinion. See how semantics work, Thernardier?

I wrote the rubber glue thing in repsonse to you just repeating my I hate you line.

I didn't make a mistake. Your point was and still is homophobic.

Thenardier and Capn--I have provided two links this morning that will begin to educate you about the lies of this administration, links by writers far less inflammatory than Michael Moore, who serves another purpose.

Please read the Frank Rich and Time magazine articles (for a start!) and then let's discuss them. I doubt you will find them as dismissable as Michael Moore.

And Thenardier, I also suggest you click on the link I supplied for the Craig Unger book above. The connections between the Bushes and the Sauds are not matters of speculation. They are matters of corporate history.

If I may augment Namo's clear-headed point of view about avoiding the purchase of a condo in Neverland... Here's a favorite, from a brilliant author, equally clear-thinking:

Toni Morrison:

"...There is nothing more gratifying than true adulthood. Its achievement is a difficult beauty, an intensely hard-won glory, which commerical forces and cultural vapidity should not be permitted to deprive you of..."

Better to at least aim for that beauty/glory than to wallow in the shallows of an unrewarding, open-ended adolescence.

First off, I never said I was for or against Bush. I only said I was against Moore.

Second off, Namo, you still have not understood what I said. I am not, in any way, homophobic.

All I was saying is Capn will get a biased view asking people HERE what they think of Bush. If he asks a group of people in Texas, he may get another biased view in favor of Bush.

If he wants to learn, he shouldn't limit asking one group of people. Which is the same thing as taking everything Moore says as fact.

What I was saying is the posters on BWW (the male ones, at least) are majorily part of the gay community. The gay community majorily is against BUSH.

The same thing with the Jewish community. Most Jews (not all) are AGAINST Bush. Or does that make me a homophobe AND an anti-Semite? Because last time I checked, I am Jewish.

FURTHERMORE, people who are GENERALLY anti-Bush are more in favor of Moore's film.

So by reasoning, people here are going to generally say that Moore's film has truth.

This is, of course, an opinion.

Now, back to the beginning, Capn asked for a simple answer. As I said, he can't get one. Why? Because of everything I just said.

Pal - I did click your links. As I said, I never said I was Republican or Democrat. I said that I was anti-Moore. If, in your eyes (or to anyone here), anti-Moore means pro-Bush, so be it. But to me, this is not the case.

Of course Moore's film "has truth."

Capn didn't get an easy answer to his simplistic question because the answers are complicated. But if you read his first post, he seems to think that the fact that Bush is in office PROVES that Moore's movie was "wrong." This is what is called syllogistic reasoning. Because I am sure Capn doesn't want to look that vocabulary word up, I'll give him one of the definitions: "A subtle or specious piece of reasoning."

It's like saying, "A whale is a mammal. Rush Limbaugh is a mammal. Rush Limbaugh is a whale."

Political engagement that begins with a movie, and dismisses serious political inquiry because "if Bush was as bad as the movie says, he wouldn't still be in office" doesn't motivate anybody to give a calm, reasurring remedial politics class to the Capn. And many people here HAVE provided helpful links.

And a brilliant Toni Morrison quote that Capn should put up on his bedroom wall where his "When you wish upon a star, Your dreams come true!" poster is now.

Thernardier, there are so many holes in your posts, let's just start with your Chuck Norris reference! And funny how you conflate the Columbine movie with Farenheit.

Chuck Norris! It is to laugh.

Question about the VERY first of the 8 points in that link, Papa.
Are those Democrats guilty of believing Hussein had WMDs because those intelligence reports were the ones where the Administration had "arranged" or "ordered" the facts to point to these WMDs?
Do you know that they are not? Given that this Administration remains tight-lipped in the face of growing pressure and knowledge of fact-arranging, can you honestly say those Democrats didn't fall in line because they were also mislead?

"Fact arranging." That's unpossible! Only Michael Moore does that! And it's wrong because it is to make money. And he's fat. KARL ROVE fat.

A new one, because this is fun. Direct quote from Shrub:

"From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Bush just have a fairly famous photo of him holding hands with, oh, I don't know, some hoo-ha or another from Saudi Arabia?
How many of the terrorists were Sauds? How often do we hear that there are still cells in SA? Just curious what actions, besides holding hands, Bush is taking against this country that supports terrorism.

Well, then, it's curtains for states that harbor Operation Resue chapters because of their shadowy relationship to splinter terrorist group members like John Salvi and others.

you're right, bway, this administration and its insidious tentacles of power have been manipulating the entire world since long before gw came to power and they orchestrated the 9/11 attacks from a small doublewide in shreveport. the power wielded by them is undeniable and if you don't hear from me after my disclosure about the doublewide louisiana control and command center it will be evidence of their mastery of all known forms of communication.

with regard to the facts, nope, i don't know for a fact that they were not altered or ordered, bway, just as you don't know for a fact they were in fact altered or ordered.

with regard to saudi arabia: mecca and medina.

Papa, where did I just say that? But there's continuing light being shed on documents and statements that are pointing to the direct manipulation of data to support a conclusion. Now, it would follow that this is the same documentation that led many of our congressmen/women, Democrats and Republicans alike, to fall right in line with the "Iraq's a threat" political march that was going on.
