I also loved the somewhat throw-away yet totally hilarious.
"Yeah like Captain Morgan! Remember in the basement? That was crazy!"
"...you have a basement...?"

"Sing the words, Patti!!!!" Stephen Sondheim to Patti LuPone.

I actually thought the Romney cold open was pretty sweet by SNL standards. Has some skewing, but really kind of gave props to Romney as a husband and father. After the election we just went through, I thought it was a welcome change.
I thought Anne was fabulous. I loved the monologue and her Stephan impression. Her Katie Holmes is pretty dead on. I liked most of the show except for Rhianna.
Drunk Uncle had me LOL.

I still cannot get "Mokiki does the sloppy-swish" out of my head.

The Mokiki skit was the strangest skit I've seen in a REALLY long time - yet it was somehow completely hypnotizing.
How high was the person who came up with that one?

Overall, I thought it was okay. Loved the monologue and the cold opening, but not much of anything else.
Why was it under an hour?

It was it'snormal legnth unless you saw it on HULU. Sometimes music rights or other such things prevent sketches from appearing on Hulu….like the Ellen sketch.

I heard about the Ellen sketch but didn't watch it on Hulu. That's annoying.

The Pandora skit from Bruno's episode is not on Hulu, and that was his strongest skit

It's usually the music rights. The Les Miz monologue isn't on the NBC On Demand version. Had to watch it linked on here.

Hulu has the monologue.
How weird would it be to not watch the monologue though?

Jamie Foxx is off to a great start with his "How black is that?" monologue.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

It made me laugh. I don't live Jamie Foxx but this has been a decent episode.

One imagines what an uproar there would be if one word was substituted for another in part of the sketch
The sketch following the bitch sketch was lame as it always is. Time to retire it.

SNL has lost it. completely.
Why the need for two game show skits (almost back to back)?
although the latter was funnier.
The Ne-Yo performance was actually a highlight for me, surprisingly.
Even Weekend Update was bland.
j-pop. please leave.
and yes Jamie Foxx- we get that you're black. please get over it and move on.
what are the writers smoking these days?
They need new seeds to plant.
I think it's time for an all-stars season for SNL.
Just grab one person from a different era- throw them in a blender and see what you get-
change it up on a weekly basis---bring in your alumni from the past 35 years.
stir it up.....
They should celebrate their upcoming 40th season that way.

The crystals sketch, which I know was stupid, made me giggle like a little girl.

It was a fine episode. Plus there was some Charlie Day which only added to its luster.
