I know I really don't have to, but I did it out of habit.
So, my Google alert tells me that Anthony was mentioned in another article yesterday. Apparently, he will be speaking at the 16th Annual GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network) Boston conference. I will just copy and paste the part where he is briefly mentioned:
"Openly gay actor Anthony Rapp will deliver the conference’s keynote address. Rapp most recently starred as Mark Cohen in the film version of the musical Rent, a role he originated on Broadway. His recently published memoir, Without You: A Memoir of Love, Loss and the Musical Rent, has earned critical praise. Rapp was chosen, said GLSEN Boston Executive Director Sean Haley, because 'he’s really very clear about becoming who you were meant to be, in a powerful, strong, affirming way.'"
I think that's an excellent way of describing Anthony.

secondstar05, thanks for that little blurb about Anthony. I agree, that was a nice way to describe him.
Thanks catharsis and bunnywings! And I did have fun at the beach. And thanks for the article secondstar! It is a very good way of describing him.
Hi Emily!
Thanks for the article secondstar. It's quite sweet. :)
Hi Emily! I'm watching Open House for the first time. I guess its almost over. Its great!!! Didn't see the twist comming! I love Anthony!!!
Bunnywings, Anthony doesn't have a solo in Babysitting Blues. I was just expressing my anger towards that! Grrr.
Hey Emily! Those are some nice pictures in your profile!
Sure he does!
"And Brenda's probably dead"
Thanks for posting that, secondstar. It really does describe Anthony perfectly. And it's good to hear that he'll be back in Boston again soon. On that note, has anyone heard anything about Anthony appearing at Boston College on May 3? The date was posted on his myspace blog along with all of the other booksignings, but there haven't been any real details released yet. I really hope he's still coming.

Odd Rapp meeting.
Yesterday, I was visiting New York with my mom. We went to eat at Angus McIndoes (sp?) and Anthony Rapp was sitting at the table next to us (very surreal for a suburban girl from the midwest). After our meal I approached him and told him I enjoyed his performance in Rent. He thanked me and continued eating with his friends. I felt really weird. I just couldn't leave without saying SOMETHING. Anyway it was really nice of him to thank me and not just thrust me away, but I guess he's used to starstruck teenagers by now...
Wow that's so cool!

Yeah, it was pretty surreal, but cool.

That's so awesome! And welcome, Emily!
That's good that he was nice about it. I mean I wouldn't expect anything less from him really. I understand it totally caught you by surprise but usually I try to not bother people while they're eating. My family used to take road trips to see the Yankees play in some other stadiums not too far away, and we stayed at hotels by the stadium...the Yankees weren't too far and a couple of times I'd end up at the same restaurant as them. I never said anything/asked for an autograph till they got up to leave, a couple other people I think followed that principle. Again, I'm sure you were just really excited, and no harm was done I'm sure, but just...don't make a habit out of it
Anyway, getting my lecture out of the way, I'm glad you had such a moment to treasure.
I don't usually post over here in off-topic but I thought I'd add some pictures to the thread. This is from Monday (4/17) at the event at SVSU in michigan. We helped set up the quilt because we got there ridiculously early and the coordinator was so grateful she let us sit in the front of the VIP section. We were sitting in the front row in the right center section. I also got some good video but i can't figure out how to make it small enough to post on youtube or something. But anyway, here are the pics...my roommate has better ones but she still needs to send them to me. For anyone who was there, I was the first person that asked a question (and that microphone scared the crud out of me when they turned it on!)
Anthony speaking...
Me asking Anthony a question...
me having anthony sign the poster that hangs in our apartment(yeah we're super cool like that)...
like i said...i have a few other pics i'm waiting on but for now those are teh best ones. I have a video of him singing (seasons of love) and a video of him reading an excerpt from his book, the one about cy o'neal coming to talk to the workshop cast. It was an amazing time :) and to everyone who i'm meeting right now, HI!

Hi, fxy! I'm glad you had a good time!
But aren't Anthony's solos in the song spoken ones?
I'm sorry for talking about his hair again, but it looks so adorable right now.
Hey fxy2003cmu! I was there too. The thing with the microphone was pretty funny.
It was my first time seeing him so I was pretty geeked about the whole thing. I took the day off work and drove up from the Detroit area. That was the best tank of gas that I've used in a long time!
He was awesome. And I was very pleased to see that he was wearing his Italia sweatshirt. I love that one. He was *so* nice and I wasn't nervous at all, which I thought I would've been.
I took *many* pictures, but I don't have steady hands so most the far away ones were blurry. But, all the up close ones came out great!

Never saw you in Rent but my sister has (my sister has all the luck), and she said that you were good. Hats off to you.
It's the return of the Italia jacket! I love it. :)
If you guys haven't seen Open House, go buy it on amazon.com. You will be so glad you did. It's a great film if you love Anthony and you love funny. Check it out.
Nice to meet you, fxy2003cmu!
I definitely will check out Open House...I've heard of it, but i haven't had a chance to see it yet!
Thanks for the welcome everyone :)
We're always glad to have new people here who love Anthony. Enjoy!
