I had glasses since 1st grade and in 6th grade I got contacts. I don't really complain, I just find it amazing that some people can wake up and just see without having to put on glasses or put in contacts.
My favorite thing about contacts is that I can wear sunglasses. I used to have those clip on things for my glasses, which I didn't care for.
Nope, as soon as I get up the contacts are in, and they stay in until I'm going to bed.

I got glasses in the 5th grade. I had "trial contacts" but it took me lierally an hour to get them in my eye, so I gave up.

Wait until you've been wearing glasses half your life, then you can complain about them.
Actually, I wore glasses from 4th-6th grade, then in 7th grade I got contacts and wore them until now.
My glasses are Kate Spade.
Ah, okay, not the same.

Haha, I know the feeling.

TELL ME ABOUT IT. I HATED not being able to wear sunglasses.

*nods* I had the same perscription glasses from 4th grade up until a couple months ago cause I never wore them... couldn't see a thing out of them now.
Is anyone else incredibly anal retentive about smudges on their glasses?
It took me about 5 minutes. I was determined to get rid of my glasses.
Glasses are sexy. And I would be way to freaked out to put contacts in my eye if I needed to.

I'm really anal about smudges on my phone. If you touch the cover your fingerprint gets on it and it bothers me so much.
I hate smudges on my glasses. It bugs me so much. And when the smudge refuses to go away even after wiping it constantly frustrates me.
I envy the people with perfect vision. *Sigh*
I don't like smudges on my cell phone screen. I don't really care about smudges on anything else, but im a little OCD with the cellphone.
It only bothered me when I couldn't see through them. My glasses are horribly dirty.
I've had glasses since 3rd grade. For a long time I hated it, but then 3 years ago I got contacts, and now it's not so bad. I sleep with them in (I know I'm not supposed to) and so most of the time it's like my eyes are normal. I still have cool glasses for when I feel like something different. The ones I got just last month are very bold, which is cool since I don't wear them often. I told my friend - "They make a statement. I'm not sure what statement, but they make A statement."

OMG ME TOO. On occasion my mom borrows my phone(when hers is dead, etc) and she NEVER wipes it off...

It's good to know that I'm not the only anal retentive person on these boards.
I'm so OCD it's not even funny... seriously, it gets obnoxious. Sometimes things take an extra long time because they have to be done a certain way... my friend makes fun of me for it all the time. lol.
See, I'm anal retentive over spelling and punctuation. Which causes a problem being Canadian on a American-dominant board.
MissMonika- Don't envy us too much. I'm the only one in my family without glasses but I have horrible headaches at least 80% of the time. We thought maybe I needed glasses since I was having the headaches but nope, I still have perfect vision. It'd be a relief if glasses would get rid of the headaches but that's not the problem and no one knows what is.

Ouch.
I'm really anal retentive about my soap. The bar can't have anything on it and can't be dented. And it can't be Irish Spring cause I'm allergic. (although the last bit can't be helped)
Sorry, T_D, I just don't understand you're argument. You're saying not to envy people without glasses, but not everyone without glasses gets headaches. And you even said yourself that needing glasses has nothing to do with your headaches. I'm a little confused as to what exactly you're saying.
CS- I think you were talking to me. I don't think I said what I was trying to say clearly so I'm sorry for that. I think I was trying to say something to the effect of the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I just ment that I would happily wear glasses if it would solve my headache problem. Sorry if what I said made no sense, I wasn't trying to create an argument, I was just making a slightly random statement. Sorry.
I wasn't arguing with you, I was just confused as to what you were saying.
Ok since we are talking about glasses and contacts I will throw in my experience.
I got glasses when I was 3 1/2. On the way home I have been told that I said "oh those are TREES on the side of the road"
I was still legally blind though. So when I was 8 I got contacts. My mom had to put them in until I was about 10, but since then til I had to stop wearing them because of surgery stuff they were in the second I got up to right before I went to bed.
I can't imagine what it would be like to see without having to wear a contact.

I've had glasses since 4th grade...they've become like a part of my face now. It's weird to look at myself when I'm not wearing them/weird not to wear them period, something I almost never do unless I'm reading (I'm near-sighted...that's the one where you can see close but not far, right?) or sleeping. I think I look better with my glasses on, though. Most of my friends think so too.
Side note: I hate noisy people when I'm trying to sleep.
So much drama since I've been gone. Whatever. I give up. There's too many of them and they aren't worth my energy, so I give up on complaining about the obnoxious fangirls until something truly outlandish happens. Well, at least on the boards.
And, er, I have 20/20 vision. But considering how often I break sunglasses, it's probably a good thing.
