Why do you have to wait 3 hours?

Is it too late for me to jump into this thread?

Ordered the book last night - eagerly awaiting it's arrival!

Awesome! I'm hoping to make his appearance at the B&N here in NY on the 21st.
#3330

Backorder

That's great. Are you going to The Cutting Room after?
#3331

Backorder

I hope to. I have rehearsal that night, but it's a student directed show, and if I talk to my director.. he'll probably want to go as well. So that'll work out nicely.

I just remembered that my friend back home is an Anthony fan and she works at Chapters. So I'm going to see if she can help me out with getting the book. I still won't be able to get it until the 16th though.

Amazon

Hey everybody --

Just a little Amazon update: seems like they've sorted out their issues and all is well there now. Also, the official book page is now available for user reviews to be posted. If those of you who have read the book would consider sharing your thoughts about the book there, it could help generate more interest in other people reading it. I hope that's not too shillish of me to ask of you.

I've heard from my local pr rep here in Chicago that the Oak Park Barbara's is not the biggest venue imaginable, so it might be a little cramped if turnout is good. Those of you in Chicagoland be aware... It'll be my first official bookstore event, so I'm really looking forward to it. I just hope that it won't be too tight and chaotic. Although that would be a nice problem to have. Amazon

On the subject of elephants, Rodney and I rode on an elephant in Thailand. I've always been drawn to elephants, having been a huge Babar fan when I was a little kid. Just wanted to jump in on the thread a little.

I'm going to keep saying it over and over again: thanks for opening your hearts to my book and appreciating what I was trying to accomplish with it.

Talk soon --

Anthony

HORSES! Yay. We have sevenBackorder Only two are mine...and one of them actually belongs to my sister, but she doesn't want her.

Mandi, you're killing me, you know that, right?

Y'all are making me want the book. And wanting a book is one thing I've never had to deal with. I owe money to three people right now, but as soon as I get back on track, I'll get it maybe. After the Rent DVD. Does the book have one of those what's it? The removable covers? Um. Dust jacket or something.
Literal tacos! Sheesh. Y'all are nasty....

Amazon

Barbara's is a pretty small (but lovely) store. Just a note for those of you who haven't been there yet. They might be a little short on space.

Amazon

HUGE Babar fan over here. Amazon

Thanks for making me smile, Anthony. I still need to find a copy of the book. Amazon

Hey Anthony!

Don't worry about being shillish...as soon as I'm done I'll write a very nice review for amazon.

Also, I'm very excited to see you speak in Syracuse. Nothing interesting EVER happens here. Backorder

Aaand, I want to ride an elephant.
#3342

Amazon

*waves*

I always changed the channel when Babar came on, I never really enjoyed it. I liked the live action shows more.
#3343

Backorder

Loved Babar.. I still do, I have to admit. I rode an elephant at a carnival when I was 10 or 11 and he tried to spray me with water...

...and it was AWESOME.
#3344

Amazon

Heh. I didn't know I had an anecdote on elephants, but I remember crying when my brother was born because I wanted my mom to name him Babar. I told her that the devil wanted her to name him Christopher. To this day, I stand by that being the reason he's so freakin' evil.

Literal tacos! Sheesh. Y'all are nasty....

Elephants are just the coolest animals. I too had MUCH love for Babar when I was little, as well as the Elephant Show (Sharon, Lois, and Bram).

I will TRY to write a good review, I swear, as soon as I can figure out how to string together two sentences about this book that aren't just me babbling like an idiot.

This really isn't related. But I've always wanted a house hippo. It might be just a Canadian thing, it was a commercial about not believing everything you see on tv.
#3347

Amazon

My sister thought house hippos were real for the longest time, heh.
#3348

Amazon

I don't think I ever watched Babar. =/
#3349

Amazon

I don't know what a house hippo is.. but I have to say, it sounds intriguing.
#3350

Amazon

I have no idea what Babar is... I'll try and figure out something other than: It's an elephant.
