What Music Do You Listen to Besides Show Tunes?#0

Yes, show tunes is def. number one on my list. I own about 50 cast recordings and numerous musical movie soundtracks and "best of..." cds. But what else can be found in my cd-player when Idina Menzel isn't belting "Defying Gravity?"

GREEN DAY!!
They are my most favorite band. Its nice type of soft rock- None of that screaming and whining that has come to play today and their music has meaning. I also cherish my Icubus, Thursday, NFG, and Calling CDs.

I listen to a lot of opera (Puccini a favorite as well) and classical in order to calm myself and while I'm doing homework. Its a nice relaxer. I need a good classical/instrumental CD. Any suggestions anyone?

But I do spend most of my music time listing to show tunes. I don't mind most of the stuff they play on z100 but I can't stand techno or club/dance type crap. But like I. New Found Glory and that type is most preferred under Show tunes and I don't mind Nelly.

Lots of bands, the only one truly worth mentioning for they forty years and a day ago graced American shores with their ingenuity for the first time, THE BEATLES.

Elphie, get the Anne Sofie Von Otter's Schubert Lieder, Anne-Sophie Mutter's recording of Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D (or ANYTHING by Anne-Sophie Mutter, she's a goddess) or Hilary Hahn's recent Bach CD (or, again, anything by her).

When I study, I prefer to listen to either Chopin's etudes or the soundtrack from the movie "Amadeus." You can't go wrong with Mozart :)

Ugh, I'm sorry, Elphie, but I loathe Vanessa Mae. The only thing I can (occasionally) sit through is her violin fantasy on Turandot. But she's such a one-dimensional player. Anne Sophie Mutter all the way.

Oh ok ummm...I listen to Something Corporate, Britney Spears(i know I'll prolly be shunned for that one), Adam Pascal(his own cd ),Maroon 5, a lot of different stuff like punk, pop, a lot of everything except country, but I always end up back with my Bway cd's!!
