no one is forcing either of you to look at the woman feeding her baby. How ridiculous to expect someone to go to the bathroom to feed a baby.
It's not like she flops her brest out and feeds the child, whenever I have seen this, the women is covered, perhaps the baby under a blanket or shawl.
Get over yourselves, you two......just don't look.

Elphaba, just like somethings annoy you, the breast feeding thing annoys me.
First of all, the child had to be at least two years old. If you are on a train with a lot of people, would you just start breast feeding your child? I wouldn't. If you know you are going to be in a public place and your child needs to be fed, pump the breast milk for that time.

Posted: 10/24/06 at 7:02pmAs long as the mother at least attempts to be somewhat modest about the activity and her entire breast isn't completely hanging out, I don't have a true problem with public breast feeding. It's not number one on the list of things I'd like to witness, but I think our aversion to it as a society is derived from imbedded puritanical ideals and its association to sex more than anything else.

things that annoy me on the subway are people who cough and sneeze a lot, being pushed out the door by people leaving the subway, people who give sob stories and beg for money...

How about people with children who could sit on their lap & instead take up a seat while forcing others to stand ?
Another gem is trying to get off the train at a terminal point which is your last stop & their first stop. They will not let you out & would literally step on their mothers to get a seat. If someone is blind, they could care less. I have seen a few blind people knocked down by these neandrathals

I know this has been said before, but what the hell: Teenagers selling candy for some "class trip", "soccer team" or to "keep me off the streets." The minute I hear some kid shout, "Excuse me ladies and gentlemen may I have you're attention..." I immediatly shove my face in my book or stare at the ground. I'm sick of kids telling me that they won't go out and rob, kill, and rape if I buy a f...in candy bar from them. The killer is when they ask for "donations." What the hell am I donating to? Your crack fund? Why dont they just get a job like the rest of the real world instead of guilting people out of their cash?

I just have a nice little story to tell:
Once me and a friend were on the train and on one of the seats was a piece of poop just lying there. It was hilarious to watch peoples reactions. Some people would walk into the train, see it and walk out of the train. one woman almost sat on it, you should have the look on her face. Pretyy soon the car emptied out

All of the above.
I can also speak from a different perspective. My bookbag is HUGE, but it's not my fault. Tell that to the teachers who expect me to bring every book to school every day, and if I went to my locker I would be late. Due to my bookbag, I always get pushed around during the morning rush. I'm used to it, though.
Ya know what, I'm gonna start a thread on how much the trains can stink sometimes. I leave home the same time every day, but I am always 20 minutes early or 10 minutes late.

People with huge backpacks & secong backpacks on wheeels . Some people feel it necessary to carry all their worldly possessions when they come to work

Elphaba -- No, I don't think it's ridiculous to ask nursing mothers to go elsewhere besides the train to feed their children. If you are telling me not to watch mothers who suddenly whip out their mammaries, then I could tell you that you don't have to listen to people on the train play their bad music or look at the homeless who beg for money. And if I were to do that, then we wouldn't have this lovely thread

Why would a mother nurse a baby in a bathroom? Is she planning to pee or poop???? No! That is seriously one of the most stupid and offensive posts that I have read on this Board.
A mother nurses her baby because the infant is HUNGRY and needs to be nursed to live! Turn your fu**ing head if you do not want to see humans taking care of their young!

Ok, this is a serious question in order to educate myself on this subject:
Is it possible for women to use those lactating machines and get the milk in a bottle for the kid to use, say, on a subway? Why can't that be a more popular choice of feeding?
