What does Rosie have against White Men?

Not to start another Rosie thread..

But my dad has been saying or years Rosie hates white men, especially republican white men. And she just proved it today on her blog.

Sorry, but I take offense to that. I don't care if she's talking about republican men - there's no need to bring a color into it.

It takes me longer to try and figure out what she is saying than it would take her to type out the full word.

If you don't like how she types, why do you go to her website?

Rosie has issues against SOME white men, such as the president, or the guys that twist her words nightly on some "crappy cable channels", she enjoys Clinton, Tom Cruise, Julian from NipTuck and many other white men.

Unfortunately, whether people like to accept it or not, color is a big deal in America. Heterosexual male white supremacy is very much an issue in this country and Rosie is confronting that issue through what seems like a generalization. However, she's just referring to "white men" as an institution rather than actual white men. No need to take it personal.

I just don't get why she can't say "men in charge." Then I would agree with her. Obviously they're white, but why even mention their color.

If black men were in charge (Which I would have no problem with) and she said "if the black men in charge" - everyone would get their panties in a twist.

But ljay, the problem is the black men are not in charge, nor are the Asians, or the Latinos, or anyone but the white men. I know a lot of white liberal people feel this attitude is offensive but there is a history of opression and superiority attached to heterosexual powerful white men. That's the truth and that is why color does matter, because unfortunately their power is very much associated with their color.

Well when Barak Obama or Hilary Clinton becomes president I hope she changes her views about only 'white men are in charge', because neither of them are white men.

I think it's intriguing that actually saying out loud that rich white men have been in power forever and they've consistently made a mess of things got you all bent out of shape. Any idea why that is?
