We are all musical finatics...obviously, but what else do you all listen to? I love most types of music, but when I'm not listening to cast recordings I am usually listening to Wagner or Mozart!

BLINK 18222222222222222!!!!!!!!!!!
(sorry...its a recesive taste so it tends to be crazy for me when i let that out)
The odd thing is that I rarely listen to showtunes. Not sure what that's all about.
I'm usually listening to Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Neil Finn, U2 or Eric Himan.
I like Classic soul and R&B (Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, etc.), emo, R&B, some rap, anything that I can dance to and look like a fool doing it
, and of course THE BEATLES!!!!!
Don't ask me why but Harvey Fierstein cut his own talk cd for Broadway Cares. I bought it at the flea market and it is hysterical. Harvey wakes me up in the morning.
I love a melodic voice.
I also listen to the Opera, Squeeze, the B'52'S, James Taylor, Elton John, Billy Joel, Betty, Devo, The Cars and other than that Avenue Q, Hairspray, Urinetown,The Color Purple, Jersey Boys, Millie and the box set of Forbidden Broadway are usually blasting in my tiny apt.
ELVIS COSTELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Harvey in the morning.

I love Elton John. He's my absolute favorite.
I love him too.
But nothing comes between me and my Harvey.
His voice is divine.
Matt Caplan (his music is amazing.)

Jason Mraz
John Mayer
Clay Aiken (Yes, I know, it's practically showtunes anyway.)
Maroon 5
Kelly Clarkson
*cough*HilaryDuff*cough*
Simon & Garfunkel
The Beatles
Billy Joel
Frank Sinatra
A lot of everything, I suppose. :)
i was about to post the chorus lyrics to Terror Squad - Lean Back, but then i realized how incredibly inappropriate it was... but its so catchy and in my head right now. otherwise, i listen to everything!

lean back, lean back, lean back, lean back! ha!
I LOVE the runner-up of Australian Idol, Anthony Callea. He has released a cover of Andreas Bocelli/Celine Dion's "The Prayer" and it is just Divine. When he performed it on the show it brought me to tears (and I am very picky when it comes to my music)
I don't mind my Opera or my classical music. Mozart, Vivaldi, Puccini...all wonderful
I also like Punk (Good Charlotte before they were famous) and Maroon 5.
I have very strange tastes.
I like country and folk music. Alot of singer/songwriter kinda stuff (cat stevens, counting crows, jason mraz, john mayer) too.
Lately, though, I've been on a holiday music kick. There's a radio station in my area that plays non-stop christmas music so that's what I listen to in the car when I don't have a musical playing. It's sick, I know.

Jason Mraz...Evanescence sometimes...but mostly just showtunes! Does the phantom movie cd count as not being a showtune? lol.
I listen to everything except rap.

Eydie Gorme
The Bobs

Whatever's around, though (whoa, shocker) I usually have showtunes on. I usually put my iTunes library on shuffle, and that's mostly showtunes anyway.
But:
Billy Joel
Elton John
The Beatles
Dispatch
Guster
Dave Matthews
John Mayer
Clay Aiken (yes, I know. I hate 'pop' music, but he's got a great voice.)
Josh Groban
... they make occasional appearances.
... plus my barrage of theatre actors' solo music. *points to signature*
Adam Pascal, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Kristin Chenoweth, and Idina Menzel, especially.

What's been blasting in my iPod recently:
I just got Marcelo Alvarez's "Bel Canto" recital CD: wonderful!
Really trashy rap and r &b songs from the early nineties
Shinedown's "Leave a Whisper" - best rock album of 2004, IMHO. Every song is good.
Jose' Cura's two disc recording of Samson et Dalila. Gorgeous!
Classic Metallica - Master of Puppets, Black album, etc.
Boston - Boston: one of the greatest albums EVER, again, IMHO
U2 - Joshua Tree: do I really need to say what I think about THIS album?
I love how the majority of us like Clay Aiken and nothing else in that 'genre'
