broadway obviously
80's music
punk
emo

a little country (shania twain, dixie chicks)
your slow music (linda eder, bernadette peters, judy garland)

I'm really lame. Lately, if it ain't showtunes, it's something by a Bway artist, like Adam Pascal's stuff. Sad, but true.

I used to listen to other music. Celtic, mostly. Some country, some Chicago/Billy Joel/Elton John-style rock.

Oh, and opera. Puccini, Mozart, especially Wagner.

I love a lot of "gay" music--Donna Summer, Kylie etc. Cheasy pop. (Steps etc). I also love Depche Mode and a lot of new wave 80s stuff, 60s groups like the Zombies and Shagri-las, Japanese pop, emo, and techno/house.

:)

Also really into classical and some jazz. I never understand people who limit themselves to one kinda music.

Anything I can dance to

When someone blunders, we say that he makes a misstep. Is it then not clear that all the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill our history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of the great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing. - Moliere

My only criteria is that people have natural talent. :)

I like anything that's GOOD singing and a REAL song (i.e. has a discernable tune, meaningful lyrics, etc.). I hate rap, and country kinda annoys me, but I'm open to anything else. I like female pop vocalists like Avril Lavigne, the lead girl in Evanescence (I love musical theater, Avril Lavigne, AND I'm straight, can you believe it?), as well as Billy Joel. I'm also starting to get into Five For Fighting. I also like classical singing. I'm starting to get into opera (I recently saw "La Boheme," which converted me), and have a couple of Bryn Terfel's solo CDs. Oh, and funny songs, like stuff from "South Park" and "Team America"--two of the greatest movie soundtracks ever (well, maybe not ever).

Erm, anything eclectic.

Usher
Tyler Hilton
Ryan Cabrera
Greenday

Those are the CD's I currently copied... but I'll listen to anything. From Rap to Classical, to punk to pop. Anything that has a good beat and I can dance to it!

Actually, the only musical theater cds I listen to on a fairly consistent basis are BARE, Rent, Once on this Island, TTB and Taboo.

Other than that it's Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Aimee Mann, Neil Finn, Rilo Kiley, The Rapture, Franz Ferdinand, etc.

60's surf-music type pop. It's so happy...

Classical... not so much recently but for the past few years when I was playing the cello in the school orchestra.

Country. I have a new respect for it since I started clogging. Not too much at once, of course, but a little bit...

And, of course, show tunes!
