My real name is Amber. There are no nicknames for Amber. It has always made me sad. I have always wanted a nickname. The closest I have ever been to one is "Ammi." My ex-girlfriend still calls me that, but only she only started doing it because I once told her that I had never had a nickname.

There was an Amber on the Amazing Race; she was really skinny, and the two gay guys called her "Amberexia."

Well, you could NOT call me Amberexia...lol. Unless you were playing the irony card. I just remembered that my friend's dad called me Ambrosia when I was little. ugh

"Mark's little sister" (Yes, from RENT. My friend started calling me that after I wore a sweater with a matching scarf, because with my glasses and hair color, I apparently resemble who would be a relative of Anthony Rapp's.)
"Abigail" (We're reading "The Crucible" in my English class, and I was Abigail, so my friend now calls me that since I was "reading that too well" and i must be "hiding" something)

My best friends from childhood, Jessica, Laura, and Val, call me "Blinney". ("Blinney" is an old Irish nickname for people named "Blanche", and the girls USED to call me Diva Blanche for reasons I will not explain in public, then we found a baby name book and thought Blinney was much cuter than Blanche, and it's stuck for years...I even get mail addressed to D. Blinney.)
A lot of my casual acquaintences *smirk* in high school called me "Chimmy", which was short for "chimichanga", and I don't think I need to explain the origins of that one...needless to say, I didn't mind it :-P
Now, most people just call me Joshy...except my roommate, who insists on calling me Slut-lleUppagus. ("Can you tell me how to get, how to get to...")

my friends nowadays call me "Mon"
