re: What is the best movie of the 90's?

I'm gonna share the shame-corner with EvelynNesbit1906 and admit that I loved TITANIC.

One movie I'm surprised hasn't been listed yet is CLUELESS. I wouldn't call it the best of the 90s, but if we're listing AS GOOD AS IT GETS and THE SIXTH SENSE here, surely CLUELESS deserves a nod too.

re: What is the best movie of the 90's?

Speaking of Y Tu Mama Tambien, has anyone seen La Mala Educacion (Bad Education) by the same director? I've heard it's fantastic.

This is incorrect. LA MALA EDUCACION (BAD EDUCATION) is from famed Spanish director Pedro Almodovar, who made such great films as ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER and TIE ME UP, TIE ME DOWN. But yes, BAD EDUCATION is fantastic; it's very much an homage to film noir and Hitchcock. It's notable in Almodovar's oeuvre for being one of his only films to centre around only male characters; there isn't one major female character in the movie. The film stars the very sexy Gael García Bernal, of MOTORCYCLE DIARIES fame. He gets to bare some hot flesh in this one.

Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN is directed by Alfonso Cuarón, who helmed such films as A LITTLE PRINCESS, GREAT EXPECTATIONS and (yes) the third Harry Potter film. His visual style is recognizable for his love of the colour green; it's in practically every frame he's filmed. If you want to see a great Cuarón film, see A LITTLE PRINCESS, one of the best children's movies ever made.

BlueWizard-

In my book, Clueless is right alongside Ferris Bueller..., Heathers, Breakfast Club, and Mean Girls as the best teen movies.

Dammit. Yeah. Thanks so much Blue Wizard. I knew that (somewhere in the back of my head) but I just had a mind lapse. re: What is the best movie of the 90's?

Banderas is at the peak of his hotness in "Tie Me Up".
