If we had to send one specimen of the the acting profession in to outer space, what on earth would it be?
Answers on a postcard please...
Off the top of my head, I would have to say Meryl Streep in SOPHIE'S CHOICE.
Ryan Gosling in The Believer.
Gregory Peck in To Kill a Mockingbird
I haven't seen a lot of the old classics, so I'm not the best one to ask on this topic. Out of all the other movies I've seen, the one that continues to amaze me is:
Ellen Burstyn in REQUIEM FOR A DREAM
I was going to say Stanwyck in Stella Dallas (just watched on Friday, so it's on my mind), but I think Matt is right. "Oh, Stingo...."
I suppose if my answer involved Shaquille O'Neal, people would think I was joking. so I'll say, Kevin Spacey's 15 minutes in SEVEN.
"I wash my face, then drink beer, then I weep. Say a prayer and induce insincere self-abuse, till I'm fast asleep"- In Trousers
Brando in On The Waterfront and Streetcar....
Deniro in Raging Bull and Taxi Driver
Judy Garland in A Star Is Born
Bette Davis in All About Eve. or Gloria Swanson in "Sunset Boulevard".
or perhaps Sissy Spacek in In the Bedroom.
For a guy, Sir Ian McKellan in "Gods and Monsters".
May could think of somemore, maybe even better, when I'mm less sleepy.

Brando in Apocalypse Now
Spacey in American Beauty
Pacino in Heat (if you haven't seen it, shame on you)
the entire cast of Glengarry Glen Ross
I want to say Jamie Foxx in Ray but I don't want to get killed.
Gloria Swanson in SUNSET BOULEVARD. Creepy yet you felt sorry for her, yet you didn't like her. BRILLIANT!!
and those eyes... they said so much!
Amen. The funny thing is that she was a film star in the silent film era and that video that she plays to Jo, is actually her in the film that caused her downfall and the guy that played Max was the director of that film. So much of that movie rang close to home and that is one of the reasons why I love it. And the final scene, "Alright, Mr. Demille. I'm ready for my close-up" is PRICELESS!!
off the top of my head: Mickey Mouse in "Steamboat Willie"
Marquise, I heart your icon.
you better heart my icon!
Or what?
Vivien Leigh in GWTW
Jame Stewart in "It's A Wonderful Life"
Hard to top Scarlett O'Hara and George Bailey....
Howard Stern Private Parts
Kelly Clarkson - From Justin to Kelly
Britney Spears - Crossroads
Mandy Moore - How to Deal
Hilary Duff - A Cinderella Story
Mariah Carey - Glitter
Topher Grace - Win a Date with Tad Hamilton
Madonna - Swept Away
Mary Kate and AShley Olsen - New York Minute
Classics...

Hey don't be dissing From Justin to Kelly--Miss Anika was in it! Haha, I *heart* munkustrap!
Judy Garland in a Star is Born is my pick. I can't believe she lost the oscar to grace kelly....
Muave and Elphie, while Judy is good in Star is Born,,,,,,check out her role in Judgement at Nuremburg. Smallerr role but she does the best acting of her carrer in that movie, it puts her work in Star to shame.
