Our director never announces what show we're doing until practically the day of auditions (which becomes very annoying when it comes to song selection). Rumor has it, though, he's leaning towards Little Shop of Horrors in the fall and Cats in the Spring. We just finished doing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Right now i'm doing West Side Story at a community theatre. I'm a Puerto Rican girl. It's some fun stuff.

To show my gratitude, I'll offer you this pointy black hat, which is just like the one Original Wicked Witch Margaret Hamilton wore in the movie!

What a great idea! How about throughout the play, you continue to offer me things like a black cloak, or a black
cape, or a broom to make me look more and more like Margaret Hamilton did! These attempts at humor will be painfully
predictable from a mile away!

I have no clue yet. Our choir director (who directs and runs the musicals) quit last year to be a Choir director at SMC, so we get a whole new choir teacher whom we don't know about and a musical which we don't know about.

My school does a variety of straight plays that they don't announce till closer to the time. And they only have a budget to do a musical once every three to four years. Luckily, just as I join the Theatre department its going to be musical year WOO! They've decided to do Honk!

Not for school, but I just found out yesterday that I got cast as Madame de la Grande Bouche in a student production of Beauty and the Beast. :)
And I have no idea about my school's spring musical. There was talk about Seussical, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Spring - still a toss-up between 42nd Street and Anything Goes, really don't know which I'd prefer

Fall - Sweeney Todd and As You Like It
"It's really crazy backstage. Just before the show started, Elaine Stritch got into a fight with stage hand, and then inexplicably started squeezing Hugh Jackman's buttocks. And by the time they had sedated her, she had punched out two cops and was holding Norbert Leo Butz hostage, threatening to kill one of his three names." -Nathan Lane

Well its rumored that we're doing Secret Garden, which I am not too happy about, but I would want the part of Colin or Dickon. Most preferably Colin though. I know thats a really young part, but we're doing this at a university which very rarely hires outside its students.

I'm doing "South Pacific" this fall at an area professional theater, and will be auditioning on Tuesday for "Beauty and the Beast" at another.
My high school is doing "Enchanted April" this fall, and "Anything Goes" next spring. I've given up on my high school's theater program though (It's crap).

I don't know what show I'm doing this summer (I find out on Monday), but I'm pretty sure that the fall drama is Twelfth Night and the spring musical is either Godspell or Pirates of Penzance(sp?).
I have my books and my poetry to protect me...

you spelled it right
I'm surprised so many schools do two shows a year. Is there one that is more popular or more focused on? Or one you personally take more seriously? We have a fall play at my school [actually a spring play too] but neither are taken very seriously at my school because not much time goes into the actual production and it's not very organized.
