This fall we're doing The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. We did our auditions on saturday and I cast as Claude. Exciting that I'm playing a kid instead of a grandma.

well right now I'm not doing a show. This is the first time in years I'm not doing a fall show and it's depressing. But its my senior year and I'm busy with apps. and working on monologues and songs for auditions. Oh, yeah and working 2 jobs..ahhh need that money! haha
In the Spring my school is doing Suessical (it seems like every other school is tooo wowww)and I'm going to audition for Gertrude. Since I haven't done the musicals in my school since freshman ( I did community shows and I went to a performing arts magnet school...blah) I don't think I'll get it because there's sooo many freaking senior girls who want and who have done it for 4 years. Oh well.
But if not that show I'm going to audition for "Pirates of Penzance" at the community theatre. And this excites me so much because it's an operetta and I want to finally have a role where I sing soprano! Since I am a soprano and I always get alto roles! I reallyyy hope to be Mabel but if that doesn't happen then Edith or Kate because they both sing a fair amount. But I would loveee to be Mabel because it would be my first time playing "the ingenue" AND having a soprano role. OMG how happy life would beeeeee
This summer I'm more then likely doing my acting teachers production of "Les Miserables" and it's at a regional theatre which freaking excites me. Although I won't be getting equity points or anything because it's a program in partnership with the theatre. But still what a greattt experience to do use their theatre and equipment. Eponine has always been a dream role of mine. Seeing that Les Miserables was the first broadway show I saw. I would really hope to be cast as her but since there aren't many sopranos auditioning for the show I'll probably go for Cosette. Also because I will be one of the older ones doing it so I know a younger girl will probably get cast as Eponine.

Right now in Romeo and Juliet, playing Mercutio (as a girl- ah!) To everyone doing seussical, you will have fun! I did the show last year and played Gertrude and it was one of my favorite experiences.

Grease! Which normally wouldn't excite me TOO much because it's different from the movie version, but we did Oklahoma last year so anything will be more fun I think. Trying to look shocked while watching our Jud get stabbed in the balls by Curly by accident during the fight scene was pretty amusing though!

Right now, my school hasn't even thought of what show they're gonna do. Rumors haven't helped either. All I hear about the subject is Little Shop this and Grease that.
...Which barely applies to me this year, as I do not plan to participate for the school pit this year. Got me a pit-gig offer in Bloomfield (4th street theater) who'll be doing Kiss of the Spider Woman.

I'm a BFA theatre design major, so I won't be performing, but my college is doing Merchant of Venice, Charlie Brown (1999 version), Prelude to a Kiss, Leaving Iowa, and 42nd Street (to be choreographed by Randy Skinner who did the B-way revival!)

Our fall play this year is the Miracle Worker, and I'm playing Annie Sullivan. It's so amazing, but so unbelievably complex, considering i'm 15.
Our school switches things every year: last year we did a musical, this year we're doing a straight play, next year musical, etc.,
