I loved her in "Pay It Forward". I thought it was a big departure from her usual role choices.

I love the PAY IT FORWARD cast, but the movie made me incredibly angry--it was shamelessly, offensively manipulative.

roquat, I've heard your opinion on the movie from others as well. I can see what you're saying about the movie being manipulative with the viewer's emotions, but I don't see anything offensive about it.

Just saw the trailer from her latest movie & she looks like she was on a crash diet & dropped a lot of weight. She has looked better.

The movie however looked good.

No, I don't think Helen Hunt and Matthew Broderick have gotten lazy. What's lazy are the lack of quality writers that create interesting roles that are available for actors over the age of 40. Not to mention the public and what the perception of "talent" is. All you read about on some of these sites is how an actor or actress has aged. Appearance has become the barometer of whether or not an actor is good.

I don't think "having anything to prove" has anything to do with it.

As a fan of gymnastics and figure skating, I usually hear that phase in that context. For example, Carly Patterson has nothing to prove, she has already won Olympic Gold.

But acting, IMO, is a totally different thing, a life-long thing.

That said, I'm wondering where she is too.

Maybe she's concentrating on being a mother?

I saw a preview for her movie the other day. It hope it was her choice as a director to make her leading lady look as awful as she does.

I know she can act, but she irritates me. I haven't really enjoyed her in anything since Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (guilty pleasure!) and that monkey movie.

I'll finish it...probably probably had an unworkable marriage with Hank Azaria. How would that make her a lesbian? Why doesn't it make Azaria gay? I mean, that really sounds misogynistic.
