Where the hell is Helen Hunt?

Since 2000, she's worked exactly FIVE times.
She's been acting since she was eight. I'm thinking she's over it. She has nothing left to prove. She has been embraced by both Emmy and Oscar.
Now, I know all you bitches are gonna say she's a no-talent beyotch, but y'all's WRONG.
I think Helen is terrific. She DESERVED her Oscar (yes, she did, you beyotches).
But why the reclusive behavior. Is she just tending her garden somewhere, and going to museums... painting with watercolors?
WTF?
I miss her.
Even though I hear she's "difficult." Yeah... that's probably it.
Still... I miss her.

She is supposedly very difficult.
But don't forget her MASTERFUL performance in the MASTERPIECE "Bobby"!!!!
I also adore her, think that she deserved her Oscar, and want to see more of her. Come back, little Helen.

LOL.
I just picture her as a little dog that ran away.

I was thinking the same thing a couple of months ago.
What Women Want is on TNT right now!

...which prompted me to start this thread.
It's a silly movie that I'm thoroughly enjoying... and MUCH of the reason is Miss Helen Hunt.
She's terrific in it!

Posted: 3/29/08 at 9:58pmCan anyone explain to me how, in every movie she does, she manages to have a scene where it's raining and she's in a white t-shirt ?

Posted: 3/29/08 at 10:14pmHelen has just spent several years on a project called "Then She Found Me" which premiered at Sundance and is being released towards the end of April. She co-wrote, directed and starred in this one and from everything I have read, the project has been well received. She has won several awards at film festivals for it. I'm looking forward to it very much. I think she has always been underrated.

Posted: 3/29/08 at 10:18pmI heard she was concentrating on directing. Considering there wasa a brief period when she seemed to be in every other movie, and also considering the major dearth of good Hollywood roles for women, I wouldn't blame her for giving acting a rest. She'll stage a big ol' comeback in a decade or so, when she gets offered the right role, and she'll surprise everyone.

Posted: 3/29/08 at 10:20pmAs for "difficult"--what major female star in movie history HASN'T been called "difficult"? (It's Hollywoodese for "powerful woman who cares about more than just her own work.")

I think she has always been underrated.
You call an Oscar and like five Emmys underrated!?
If that's underrated, what's your definition of overrated?
I always had difficulty buying her as straight. She is SUCH a blatant lesbian, and that "What Women Want" movie was a total joke.
She managed to change her accent about five times throughout "As Good As It Gets" and win an Oscar for it.
She is hands down the most unfunny comedic actress I've ever seen on television.
On stage, she acts about as well as Julia Roberts.
So yeah, I think she's OVERRATED.

Posted: 3/30/08 at 12:20amI absolutely cannot stand her, though she was mildly amusing in "Life x 3" when screaming at the offstage child. She is not a pleasant person. As far as I'm concerned she can stay in seclusion or whatever she's doing. She ruins Twister for me, and it's one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies (don't say Bill Paxton ruins it because his terrible acting is part of its appeal).

ANYWAY!!!
Doesn't she also have a 3-year-old? She's probably concentrating on motherhood right now.

I loved her in As Good As It Gets. I never cared for her sitcom.
She is an amazingly talented actress. I can't see here spending
"several years on a project" though. What actor would do that to the exclusion of other work?
I also hear she is a bitch. Which only increases my admiration for her.

Yikes. Her Viola in Lincoln Center's "Twelfth Night" was the most boring, one-note performance I've ever seen.

Posted: 3/30/08 at 12:31amShe did do a truly dreadful adaptation of Lady Windemere's Fan a few years ago. It came out (!)under a different name. And yes she is a mom and prob feels she doesn't want to miss out on this time w her child. Pearsonaly I have always found her too mannered in all her performances.

Posted: 3/30/08 at 1:21amDreadful is the word for that Windemere movie. What a waste. I don't miss her.

Posted: 3/30/08 at 4:20amI love her in the tv movie "The Miracle of Kathy Miller" (circa 1983) and also in "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." I think she peaked after that.
