wow - its been quite a long time since I was called a pompous ass - I kinda like it!
I'll remember that.
For those of us who can't be pompous asses, we can be pompous ass supporters... Unless it's a red thong, that is...
I LOVE IT!
I think my Grandmother has some pompous ass supporters that we can throw on stage for Redhot.
redhot, you are sooo flippin' awesome. I am also giving you a huge standing ovation! And a great big hug to boot!
I blush...
So, does anyone know just how many performances Donna Murphy actually missed?
Well, it depends...some days she was able to catch All My Children and One Life to Live during the day, so those nights she was able to go on. So I'm not sure of the exact number...
Not if she TiVo'ed everything and wanted to watch some of them at night...
She told me she couldn't afford Tivo because she misses too much work.
Kind of a Catch 22 if you ask me.
KMC - she doesn't have TiVo. As Matt pointed out, she catches AMC and OLTL at night on SoapNet.
I thought the Weisslers gave her TiVo as a part of her contract. Unless they cut the cable when she was sick...
I couldnt agree with you more Red....Isnt it amazing how people are so quick to judge?
I love the ones here who believe that an actors job is never done, that they are required to give autographs...THAT amazes me
Bobby gets a hug too!
Thank you, redhot. I don't think it will surprise anyone that I completely agree with you.
Thanks Mom.....A hug is good!!

Bobby, don't you know that actors exist only to serve at the beck and call of their fans? They aren't people- they're performance machines we pay to see.
Bobby, I don't think actors are REQUIRED to give autographs, but I do feel that it is wise for them to do so. Actors are in a business of selling themselves and if you are constantly snubbing the people who wait for you after a show, it's not a good thing. I don't feel there's anything wrong with taking an extra 10-15 minutes out of your day to sign playbills and take some pictures.

True enough, Matt. But the sense of entitlement that some fans have makes me sick. Sometimes actors have a bad day or a busy one, or have to catch a train home. These people don't seem to comprehend that life goes on for actors even outside the theater.
Your ticket price does not include stage door activities.
You're right, they don't. But that's not everybody. There's always going to be the odd eBay seller or old fart who pushes his way to the front and knocks little kids down. But again, it comes with the territory. And anyone who thinks it doesn't is really living in a fantasy world with rainbows and leprachauns.
Also, I would love to hear all these people who bitch and moan about signing and taking pictures when people STOP asking for them.

*watches as the leprechauns run away*
Why must you ruin my illusions?!
*sob*
Yeah, well. The one time I visited a stage door was to gawk at Hugh Jackman from a slight distance during the summer. One distinctive item that I saw signed popped up on EBay a day later. So no illusions here. Still, I tend to take the actor's side in these things since they're the ones who've been working for the past couple of hours.
