Yup. That's what I'm doing right now; killing myself at work so I can be in NYC the week of the 4th to see shows all week!
You're right Addy! At least we live here, poor eyeonbroadway has to come to NYC and see all the shows in a week!
And "poor" about covers what I'll be after 8 days there...
But you'll be 'rich' in experience!
What shows are you seeing?
Grand Rapids, MI. My wife and I love New York so we're getting antsy now! We're flying in next Friday.
A week in New York sounds like fun, fun, fun!
Let's see...So far, Piazza, Spelling Bee, Ave Q, Scoundrels, and Doubt. Still have a couple of days to pick up so I'm open to suggestions. We're also seeing a Yankees game on the 5th since I've never been to Yankee Stadium and we're doing a touristy thing with lunch at Tavern on the Green, a tour, and fireworks on a boat in the harbor on the 4th. Otherwise, we're pretty open!

WOW! That sounds like a fabulous week in NYC! I wish I were doing all of that!!
GREAT shows - all of them. Can't wait to hear your thoughts and reviews.
I think I'd like to take a vacation in NY some time.. away from the day-to-day stuff!
Hi, brdlwyr and beacon!
Cookie, I'll join you in a heartbeat!
At least you wouldn't have to hassle with airports...
There's a perk!
So, what's it like in NYC the week of the 4th? I've heard that things slow down that week but that hasn't helped me find Spamalot tickets...
It slows down for the "in" crowd, in terms of neighborhood restaurants and shops and whatnot. Though the touristy places can get more crowded thanks to much wanted visitors as yourself, EOB...
There are many more visitors to NY that week, so things don't slow down all that much. I think Spamalot tickets are a tough get... I hear brokers are getting $500+ for orchestra seats.
I hope the weather cooperates. It's been so nice the last few days, but it's supposed to warm up a bit. Pack an umbrella!
and with "in" I meant the not-so-obvious places that we residents cherish... Not "in" as in being in-the-know....
Well, we've been there before so I don't care so much about the touristy places. I'd love to hear more about the places you're talking about, though, KMC. Especially since you guys in the in crowd get scarce that week anyway! Wouldn't want you to come in and say, "um, that's my chair..."
Good morning mojitians...
It's so nice to take a vacation in your own city. Did it once here in Seattle.
"What on earth is going on? People are acting in inexplicable ways; random things are happening right, left and sideways; and there you are, stuck in the middle. Keep your head down -- this'll clear up soon."
Uh? 'k... *puts head down*

DD - I had thought about doing that in Chicago, just simply coming down here for a few days, but I have not done so.
We have a reception for clients this afternoon at the club and my wife is bringing the kids. One of myh clients is bringing his daughter so I thought it would be a nice opportunity for others to meet my family. My partner is doing the same.
EOB - I am very jealous of your trip. We are in DC that week, but no real plans other than family.
C - always nice to see your cookie self.
