Who says conservatives have no sense of humor?

(This is a real thing in the world. He is a real artist and sells his paintings and posters of his paintings.)

This is The Forgotten Man by Jon McNaughton, a Mormon painter. It shows Barack Obama standing on the Constitution as the founding fathers gnash their teeth and wail in the background. Washington consoles a dispiriting America.

This one is a little subtle: The Empowered Man shows that discouraged American now empowered by holding the constitution (a document given to us directly by Jesus, according to another classic NcNaughton painting). Distraught Barack Obama and other anti-American Americans (I see FDR!) are in anguish on the right.

Phyllis! Obama wants EVERYONE on Welfare, remember? This Empowered American don't need his government hand outs! That is why Bill & Barack and Franklin all look so scared- he gots the constitution and he gots the money!

He does have a Kincaidishness about him. But he claims (with his BYU illustration degree backing him up) to be a member of the French Barbizon school of Impressionism. I guess I can see it. they sort of look like paint-by-numbers to me.

Yeah, why is Bush on the defeated evil president side?

And why is Reagan not?

And why is the Empowered American an Aryan male?

Of course,in the land of Obama, FDR and Clinton, presumably the flora are all Sad...

You have to go to this guy's site. You can go through and see all the details of the paintings and what things are included and why.

That website made me laugh very hard. He even explains what the clouds mean and what that paper is on the bench.

And he puts Lincoln on the "Happy" side although Lincoln sure didn't do much for the idea of smaller government and state's rights.

and the Empowered American is a White male BUT he represents ALL of us of all colors and creeds.

The fact he looks like Joseph Smith is a complete coincidence!

I thought he looked kind of James Spader-ish...

"...a sex dream about Darryl Issa..."

What you have been given (by God, by Dr. Freud, by yourself) is a portal to about 10 minutes of brilliant, top notch political humor. Maybe a song?

An unknown named Carol Burnett sang a piece of special material called "I Made a Fool of Myself Over John Foster Dulles" who was then the very buttoned-up and Protestant Secretary of State. She sang it 2-3 times on tv in one week and Dulles was even questioned about it on Meet The Press.

Go for it. This could make you.

I love how in the Empowered Man id's on the website, the guy standing by Kennedy, completely obscured by the constitution, is shown to be Calvin Coolidge. Of course! I'd know those legs anywhere!

And why is Reagan clapping with the "good guys?" The national debt tripled under him, after all.
