I would love to see a Stadttheater production of "Urinetown"... Some theatres are doing it this year, I think.

lol, okay, I can, the Schubring/Adenberg shows are nice ("Fletsch" and "Emil und die Detektive") but they are hardly big names up to now.

Faust came across me rather as a rock album than a musical.

von allem, was Weill geschrieben hat, ist das noch am wenigsten ein Musical *g* aber okay, man kann es zählen.

Ich habe noch ein paar obskure DDR-Musicals auf Schallplatten in Antiquariaten und Bibliotheken gefunden, aber viel, das muss man zugeben ist es nicht.

Edit: Yessica, I wouldn't doubt that there are many many great German plays, there Germany can hold up to international competition, but musicals...

Was allerdings da ist in der deutschen Musicallandschaft, ist Trash wie vieles von den Wecker-Musicals oder denen von Frank Nimsgern. Letzteren muss man nicht kennen *lach* er hat Müll wie POE und Paradise of Pain geschrieben, die Titel sprechen für sich.

Jap, Guy, wir schreiben schon seit einiger Zeit Shows zusammen.

@Yessica: Die Partitur zu Rock it variiert allerdings stark musikstilistisch, auch wenn der Sound meistens an Rock'n'Roll angenähert ist.

Ja, an so einem Zeitpunkt bin ich immer froh, dass ich im liberalen Deutschland lebe (auch wenn die Musicallandschaft deprimierend ist), hier sind solche Ansichten, anders als in den US schlicht nicht mehr mehrheitsfähig.

Das kann ich mir vorstellen. Ein paar treiben sich ja auch im Board herum zuweilen. Manche davon allerdings, wie mir scheint, nur als Parodie davon.


... ich vergaß natürlich noch den Mann des mickrigen Musical-Mists schlechthin zu erwähnen: Martin Doepke, in dessen furchtbarer Tatenkartei v.a. seine Schöne und das Biest und Robin Hood Versionen stehen, aber auch noch manches andere wie man auf seiner HP nachlesehen kann *schauder*
