.... if you actually live near Zuccotti Park.
Even though you pay taxes, you have no right to enjoy the park outside your door. You have no right to a normal nights sleep. You have no right to waking up to fresh air . You now have the stench of human feces wafting through the air. You have no right to operate a business without it being financially hurt by the fun group in the park. There is rampant drug use (heroin/crack) in the park as well.
NYC has millions of rats.It should be fun when they start visiting the park in droves and the nearby houses and businesses. A local health official he saw a pidgeon in a tree right above someone washing dishes in filthy water.
One can imagine how the public officials would have screamed had this been the tea party. It would have lasted 3 seconds. I was actually toying voting for Quinn for mayor (assuming she will have no real opposition) but once she supported these individuals she lost it.
This is the 2011 answer to Woodstock for many.

Oh my god, Roxy. That's hilarious. THERE WAS A PIGEON OVER A DISHWASHING BIN!!! WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN????
Maybe you should stop listening to Rupert Murdoch's minions and go take a breath near the park. There is no stench of feces in the air. You're being ridiculous repeating such fantasies.
You really have no idea what you're talking about, but your blanket dismissal of Occupy only reveals you're uninformed and repeating talking points. You're being a fool.
ETA Since you're repeating talking points spoon-fed to you, why did you leave out the insane charges of Anti-Semitism? Is it because even you recognize that was a lie? Why did you miss the fact that the other points you made above are also lies?
PS My brother who is an expert on pigeons would like you to know that pigeons do not sit in trees. Ever.

Roxy...have you even set foot outside of Queens and actually stopped by the park to see what's going on? My guess is, no.
What exactly qualifies as RAMPANT drug use? Drug use happens in every park in this city...come to Brooklyn we can walk through Prospect Park and you can collect syringes while we stroll its paths.
"I was actually toying voting for Quinn for mayor..."
Seriously, you expect us to believe that?

I'm making two new signs to bring to Occupy. One is against the new discussion of slashing military benefits for retirees, and the other is for the new Bank of America scam that puts US taxpayers at risk AGAIN in the form of another bail out. Maybe Roxy is in favor of these two new developments? I know I have spent hours at Occupy talking to and finding agreement with a lot of people I normally would not talk with, including fervent Christians and tea partiers. I wish Roxy were brave enough to do the same thing. Instead, he will sit at his computer regurgitating talk radio points as if he knows them to be true.
FYI: Bank of America’s holding company (BAC) has moved troubled derivatives from its subsidiary, Merrill Lynch, to Bank of America, which is insured by the FDIC and, ultimately, the US Treasury. Bloomberg News reports that BAC moved the troubled derivatives after having its credit rating downgraded last month. This downgrade was due to its relentless acquisition of failing companies like Countrywide Financial and Merrill Lynch. both of which have massive, hidden losses. This means that Bank of America’s exposure to the ongoing European debt-crisis is now insured by U.S. taxpayers.
If you're pro that kind of thing, Roxy, keep raising your voice against people calling attention to it.

The Depends are chaffing.
Besides after living on John Street for over 11 years, I know there really isn't many residences that open up to the park. Those that do have entrances on Broadway and are far from the park. Roxy go back to collecting soft balls from your front lawn!

Families cleaning in Zucotti park today. I don't see any smell lines from the piles of feces that aren't visible anywhere but in the Warner Bros cartoon of Mr Roxy's Post-fueled imagination.

Occupy Wall Street Protesters are hippies, druggies, and misfits yet these people are considered wholesome Christian patriotic Americans.(and these people get offended if you dare call them racist)

There is significant overlap with the concerns of the tea party and the occupiers. Many people in both groups see that clearly. There is not room in the occupy movement for racism, homophobia or threats of violence. All three of those things are explicitly condemned. This is something the spokespeople of the tea party NEVER said out loud and this is why many people who might have found common cause with them avoided them like the plague.
Now, I wonder if this is one of the times Roxy would say I was "too PC" or would he defend that picture of Obama with a bone through his nose as "freedom of speech"? I mean, actually, I would defend it as freedom of speech and I would await the person hiding his or her face from the photographer to explain how it isn't racist and what it says to him or her.

Remember this? Not one Republican denounced this when it came out. They all laughed about it and anyone who was offended was accused of not having a sense of humor.

Of course, lets not forget these.

Those who sent these racist emails out eventually apologized but act angry that they had to do so.These same people hate it when you accuse them of being racist or preaching hate.To them it's free speech. Hate speech is considered free speech to them.

Shouldn't her sign read "The zoo has an African lion and the White House has a lyin' African?"
I hate to correct her but I think she should change that, just so people won't think it's worded incorrectly.
I'd hate for her to be embarrassed.

She substituted a picture of a lion for the word "lion". Since some of them are illiterate and all....

She placed it in the wrong place, silly lady. If you read the picture as the word, her sign reads "The zoo has an African and the lion White House has a lyin' African"
She's silly.

I think Naomi Klein might read Broadwayworld. She has an excellent article that basically eviscerates Roxy's points at the top of his thread. And by "Roxy" I don't mean the actual guy, but rather, the New York Post and it's pRoxy poster here at BWW who doesn't add a single original thought or analysis to his regurgitation.
Klein says some things that might make his head explode. If he could understand polysyllabic (look it up, Roxy) words.
[A]n absolute "right to be free of disruption" from First Amendment activity does not exist in a free republic. But the right to engage in peaceable disruption does exist.
[T]he First Amendment means that it actually is not up to the mayor or the police of any municipality, or to the Parks Department, or to any local municipality to prohibit public assembly if the assembly is peaceful but disruptive in many ways.
And most alarmingly for some:
Just as protesters don't have a blanket right to do everything they want, there is absolutely no blanket right of mayors or even of other citizens to be free from the effect of certain kinds of disruption resulting from their fellow citizens exercising First Amendment rights. That notion, presented right now by Bloomberg and other vested interests, of a "disruption-free" social contract is pure invention...
it's really worth a read

As long as we're making a semester reading list for Roxy, et al, I thought I'd add this article from today's Washington Post. Maybe Marc Fisher reads BWW, too.
"Wayne Schissler walked the four blocks from his workplace to the small Occupy Allentown protest to show the young demonstrators that a tea party member is not a monster. What he learned after a few hours of talk surprised him.
"They didn't stink, and they weren't on drugs," he said. "I could see me being them, 30 years ago."
Fifteen hundred miles away in rural Minnesota, Vas Littlecrow, a tea party die-hard since the movement's early days, let the Internet noise about Occupy Wall Street wash over her, leaving her alternately annoyed and intrigued. She went on Google Plus to debate the Occupiers, "and they started saying things that clicked with me," she said. "This was deja vu with how I got into the tea party."
