My watch list for the season: "Desperate Housewives"-its has its flaws but I think the writing and dialogue is snappier. I find myself chuckling again, which I didn't last season.
"Top Chef"-a great replacement for Runway. Snarky Competition.
"Grey's Anatomy"-still fun and addictive even though it is over the top and not as well written as everyone pretends it is. The great cast keeps me coming back.
I have given up on:
"Ugly Betty" it feels like Devil Wears Prada-lite. Vanessa Williams is chewing the scenery and not in a good way.
"Men In Trees"-no one on here has even mentioned it, so that is not a good sign. I LOVE Anne Heche but this show can't seem to find its voice. I wanted to love it.
"B & S"- I think it is badly cast, and the writing is weak.
"6 Degrees" Attractive cast doing nothing particularly interesting.
I think Grey's Anatomy spawned alot of drama-dies that are not as well cast or spunky in the ways Grey's is. I think there are more cheating people on television now than ever and it is just getting plain dull.
"cheating people" ? do you mean like calista on bros & sis's and that empire dude on "six degrees" ? are there others?

I saw a commercial for a Grey's Anatomy rip-off about brain surgeons coming to CBS in November called "3 Lbs." (that's the weight of a human brain, I guess).
This year was the year of the "LOST" rip-offs - a group of seemingly unconnected people thrown together in a difficult situation.
"lost" ripoffs - see chaucer, geoffrey.

I don't exactly have many chances to watch TV, but for now:
Hated Smith, glad it's gone. Only watched it because I was intensely bored.
Seen two episodes of Studio 60- it feels Sorkinish, but it's not quite great, yet. I need something to pull me in to make me watch; I don't have time otherwise.
The pilot of The Nine was decent. I'll try watching the other episodes that are up online. Legally. When I have time.
I saw one episode of 30 Rock- the one with the yacht- and I rather liked it. "Paranoia? That just confirms my suspicions." I'll try to catch up on it during break. Or the summer.
Everyone in the whole wide world should watch Veronica Mars, because I said so. Also because its ratings are abysmal, and it won't even finish this season if that doesn't change, and then my fannish heart will be broken. (Glad to see you picked it up, penguin.) When I was talking about needing something to pull me in- Season 1 of that show didn't so much pull at me as completely devour my brain. I watched the episodes in chunks of 5 because I couldn't stop. This show shouldn't be dropped because it had the misfortune of airing on UPN.

From what I've read, the ratings are actually up for Veronica Mars; not by a lot, but there is improvement. In Tina Majorino's recent interview on TvGuide.com, she seemed very positive about VM's ratings and its chances for a full season order.
Here's hoping my VM stays around for at least as long as Buffy did. I want to see Veronica graduate college!
I haven't had time this season to really watch any shows, but I tried to like "The Class." It's just NOT funny. Jessie Tyler Ferguson's character is just a lame ripoff of Leaf. I really wanted to like the show.
So, I have just been sticking with the shows that I have watched for awhile: Grey's Anatomy, South Park, Drawn Together, Best Week Ever, and Sex And The City re-runs.
I've only seen a couple episodes of Friday Night Lights, but I'd watch Kyle Chandler read the phone book. Preferably in his underwear.
I do think the show's pretty well put together, though.
