Posted: 8/13/06 at 3:18amI'm using that Nature's Cure stuff right now, the pills and the 5% Benzoyl Peroxide cream...it seems to be working well, my face is almost completely clear (except for a few blackheads that I didn't expect it to take care of). It'll really be put to the test in the next week, when my hormones start spazzing out in preparation for my period. That's when I really break out badly.

Bumping to see if any new products/developments have occurred in the last year & 1/2.
I'm about at the end of my rope when it comes to my face......

I still swear by the Body Shop products-most specifically the Tea Tree Oil and their Oceanic mask-which the bastards just dicontinued. I've been using their Tea Tree mask in the tub but its not the same at all.
The other mask I like is made by Clinique, it's called the "Deep Cleaning Emergency Mask." This is probably a big no no, but I usually put a dot of it on the zit before bed and wash it off in the morning. 9 times out of 10 it works for me.
Remember to keep your skin moisturized too!

I've been using the Murad Moisturizing Acne Treatment Gel every night after loving a sample of it I got at Sephora. It's the less harsh of the two Murad Acne Gels. It has cleared up my face and shrunk my pores. I've also been using some of the Kinerase products, especially their Clear skin moisture light lotion where/when I get dry. I cleanse with boring old Cetaphil.
And yes, to the earlier poster who said Murad will make you worse initially for a few days as the brochure says that's the "purging phase" and cleaning out the pores.

Is there a big difference between the Murad and DDF stuff at Sephora?
When I went for a facial as part of a gift certificate the girl suggested the DDF, but I am so wary because of the all the money I have spent on crap like that.

They gave me a few different moisturizers to try and I settled on the Kinerase. And if something doesn't work for you, if you keep the receipt and packaging, Sephora will gladly take it back and exchange it for something else or give you a credit. The Murad representative was actually in the Times Sq store the day I was browsing for products and gave me a tube of the treatment gel I ended up buying 2 weeks later. She told me to start with the less harsh of the two gels first as I wasn't that bad.

Well, there goes my liver!
I'm getting a breast reduction in May, and the plastic surgery office (more specifically, the aesthetician) set me up on a skin care regime with fancy products and occasional facials (and minocycline) to get rid of the bacteria and lessen the chance of infection when I have the surgery. My face has never been so consistently clear. I love it. I'm going in for another facial tomorrow.
The products I use are called GlyMed. It's fantastic stuff. You can only get it from registered sellers, but if you don't want to go through a plastic surgeon I believe it's available at spas.

Posted: 2/25/08 at 3:51pmI recently had success with Retin-A, though the treatment takes a while until you visibly see the results.

Posted: 2/28/08 at 11:58amI went to Sephora and after talking to the girl I got the trial kit of DDF. Started it last night so we will see how it goes.

I used to love that Body Shop Tea Tree stuff. It's great but it's very strong.
Now I use Purity by Philosophy, which I love, and Differin gel if break out.

Posted: 11/21/09 at 9:21pmOkay, trying again. Bumping this to ask about emergency spot treatments. I use Proactiv every day and my skin is usually pretty under control, but I've been sick lately and sometimes when I get viral things, one of the symptoms is that my skin gets really bad. I have a huge, very painful pimple right between my eyebrows, and I need it to go away. Any suggestions?
