Scientology and Gays...

http://www.universalway.org/Foreign/scientology.html

UGH!!

The Church of Scientology has officially determined that gays are "perverts" who are both "quite physically ill," and "extremely dangerous to society." The Church of Scientology teaches that such "aberration is contagious," and that toleration of such "perversion" is "extremely bad for society." The Church has an answer. Gays can either be "quarantine[d] . . . to avoid the contagion" and "uniformly institutionalized," or they can be forced to undergo Church "processing." If all else fails, the Church of Scientology offers a final solution -- gays can be "dispose[d] of . . .quietly and without sorrow."

After After Dark

Okay, full disclosure: He used to clean my building. Honestly.

I lived on the upper west side in the late 70s, and he the trash boy (!). At the same time, he was posing for AFTER DARK. Funny, there was an 8 year difference in our ages then, and a twelve year diff now. (But to be fair, it looks more like 12, so call me bitter.) All I remember of Young Tom: He was monosyllabic, the way you want your AFTER DARK models to be.

Rath, I just saw Best Week Ever too and the transcript really doesnt do it justice.

I am beyond disgusted by him. But, I don't even think it is total arrogance now... ironically enough, I REALLY do think there is something chemically wrong. It's kind of a sad chain of events we are witnessing.

After After Dark

Thanks for the link, Namo. I knew the Scientologists were crazy, but Jesus, I had no idea they were that dangerous.

Forget the psychiatry crap Tom Cruise is spewing for a few minutes; while he's being so "open" with the media, I'd love to see someone sit him down and actually address all these other issues regarding his "church."

After After Dark

Namos pics kinda suggest to me that Scientologists are taking over the earth..just like in the soon to be released movie. Want proof..just look at all of the red states..pretty soon everyone in them will be sprouting tentacles and then devouring the rest of us. I knew there had to be a valid reason for Bush winning the last election! He's their leader...

Namo, right back at you!

I really appreciated your message. (And am sorry I didn't see it until now...)

After After Dark

oh...and what has me seething is the publicity machine at work placing articles in the NYTimes (Saturday) saying that Matt Lauer looked like an idiot and that Cruise showed him up.

I liked seeing Matt Lauer get mad and challenge the little c**k. Go, Matt Lauer!!

After After Dark

Just give me 5 minutes in a room with Tom Cruise. He'll be screaming for medication!

After After Dark

Five minutes with me alone in a room also and he'd be screaming, too - but I'm not sure there's a medication that would be helpful in that situation.

Yeah, I bet if some random person had squirted water at me they wouldn't have been arrested for assault.

It sounds from a teaser that there will be a follow-up Monday (6/27) morning on the Today Show. Additional footage perhaps?

Today Show

Here is an interesting article about how Katie was at the taping of the Today Show looking a bit brainwashed, Cruise's kids, and the principles of Scientology. Number 12 scares me a bit...

Today Show

I am SO GLAD someone pointed out the misguided focus of that article in the NYTimes: (from the link)

In the meantime, Cruise will be dealing with the fallout from his Friday interview on the "Today" show. It was such a train wreck that no less than The New York Times reviewed it on Saturday.

I do think Alessandra Stanley, one of my favorite writers, did it get it a little bit wrong, however. Stanley found Cruise's ferocious meltdown refreshing because it showed him unfettered by a controlling publicist. She dismissed host Matt Lauer for not being tougher.

That's where we differ. First of all, Lauer had to deal with the fact that, in the creepiest of ways, Holmes was sitting near Cruise on the set. The director cut to her often; she looked mesmerized, with a never-ending frozen grin.

What the heck was she doing there? She looked more like a disciple than a fiancée. It was almost as if Cruise had brought her for insurance, thinking Lauer wouldn't ask him anything tough if he basked in the light of his insta-romance.

Then, Lauer — ever the gentleman — was perhaps more personally invested in this interview than I've ever seen him. As Cruise's guard dropped and he became more unwound, Lauer did not lose his cool.

To hear a major movie star, with no degree beyond high school, rant these words: "There's no such thing as a chemical imbalance," and then proceed to denounce all of psychiatry, must have been delicious for Lauer.

Yet he rightly kept his cool, even after Cruise denounced the attention-deficit-disorder treatment drugs Ritalin and Adderall as part of a dangerous conspiracy to control children's minds.

...and it goes on to provide the script of the interview...

Thank you!

Today Show

It doesn't seem that anyone posted about the Today Show today.

Did they show more of the Cruise interview or were they just pretending there was something else to get more people to watch?

Today Show

Millie, I watched it. Because I, apparently, like to torture myself.

Most of the pre-taped interview was promotion for the movie. The Today Show, however, continued the topic from Friday with Katie talking to two experts in the field of psychiatry.
