re: anyone see Cruise's meltdown on 'Today?'

Just another example of an actor who's allowed to get away with clinically imbalanced behavior because he's an actor, not a banker, teacher, nurse, etc. I've known one or two in my time. It's amazing to me.

I saw it. I'm glad I did. A few years from now I can proudly say that I witnessed what was to be the start of Tom Cruise's crash and burn.

I have never been a fan of Tom's and would never pay (or waste my time) to see any movie that he's in. He's a freak.

Well...it just goes to show what a good (or bad) publicist can do!!!

I agree that what he is saying is dangerous. But I also can't help but get a thrill out of watching this very public self-immolation!!

I'd go for a little spontaneous combustion about now.

What no one's told Tommy-boy yet is 'STAY IN THE CLOSET, FREAKBOY!!! WE DON'T WANT YOU!!! WE HAVE ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH WITH THAT FREAKASS MAYOR OF SPOKANE AND HALF OF THE REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP!!!'

And that's my good deed for the day.

This is so unlike me in a thread and not a PM but, I love you NYAdgal.

Tom has "studied the history of psychiatry." Sure. While training for 9 months in martial arts and 13 months to be a pilot and teaching children with learning disabilities and auditioning girlfriends and on and on and on.

Here's an interesting tidbit I picked up on a website. Children raised in Scientology don't ever seem to go on to academic careers of distinction, even with the "study tech" that is so "incredible."

It's all so Montgomery Clift.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

He is sick. And If I have to watch him on TV gushing about how much he love Holmes - I might vomit.

He has no right to bash Brooke Shields. She is being the mature one throughout this situation and I give her credit.

Brooke Shields is showing classy restraint. She needs to hire a couple of Teamsters to go over there and beat the hell out of him.

While I will agree that Brooke is being classy by not striking back, how bad will her child feel though when it grows up and realizes when it was a newborn mommy wanted to throw it out. There's a good 25 years of therapy for ya!

I am looking forward to Brooke's response. She read him the riot act last time.

And I'm looking forward to the day Cruise gets so riled about psychiatry that he poops himself on camera.

Someone needs to crush up some Paxil and put it in his red bull.
Good Lord, Katie Holmes....I wish someone would ask her what she thought of Cruise's take on post-partum.

She thought nothing cause Cruise's manager is paying her alot of money not to think or speak or mention the Hatian "Pool Boy".

I wonder if Tom will ever father a child and have to live with the Mother while she suffers from PPD. He and Nick adopted (which is wonderful, don't get me wrong) but I wonder if he would be saying the same things had she given birth to those kids and gone through what so many Mothers go through.

re: anyone see Cruise's meltdown on 'Today?'

excellent point Forester. I wonder if, and if not, why not, Senior Speilbergo has called Cruise and told him to shut up. Talk about negative press. Of course in our media saturated/celebrity obsessed culture it won't matter. Cruise and Speilberg = big opening weekend. Cruise is at a point where the only reason people would stop seeing his movies if he were putting babies on spikes.

People will still pay to see him because he was "Top Gun!"
and I have to admit I'm sure I will see the movie. Cruise is a psycho but if Speilberg knows one thing, it's how to make an entertaining popcorn flick (however thats a whole different thread which I won't even bother to start).

I've wonder the same thing Carl. I'm sure Spielberg is not happy with the publicity. Especially since it's detracting from the film. However, like they say, no such thing as bad publicity.

re: anyone see Cruise's meltdown on 'Today?'

Cruise doesn't have the power to give anyone an Oscar (he can't get one himself) he just puts people on radar and hopes he's picked someone that blows up so that people will discuss their career as opposed to their relationship with Tom.

What's frightening is Cruise's insistence at his "knowledge" of psychiatry. Even the Scientologist's refuse to back what he says. How come he picks on Brooke Shields as opposed to Alex Rodriguez? Who also recently discussed publicly his mental treatments.
His comments are on line with Rosie's "people that lie get cancer" considering how chummy the two of them are, I'm not at all suprised.

Here's the video of it.
Tom and Matt Lauer
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
