re: be civil and tasteful

nah, flit, it will have to be post convention because if they get a bounce dick's going nowhere. sept. 15th sounds too soon to me. my money would be late in the game so that whoever they put on the ticket can escape the deeper searches and have to be attacked with mostly surface issues.

as much as i would love to see this happen, if for no other reason than to keep dick from following spiro, unless they are down by more than 8 in september, fuhgeddaboudit.

I agree. Everyone should be respectful of other people's opinions. Even if they are a little out of demographic group for this board.

I just put my GWB logo and anti-Kerry signature back on. I caught a lot of flack for them last week so I took them down. Now I am disgusted with myself for letting anyone try to scorn me for my opinions/beliefs for even one second.

Flowery, give it UP! You know. We know you know. And we know you know because you did it to Phanty.

There! I said it.

You were right the first time, EricMDB, your signature file makes no sense. Care to explain it? And also, could you tell me the difference between that analogy, the thing that makes it acceptable, and the analogies that others have flown that Bush is equivalent to Hitler?

Not that I don't think everybody gets to have his or her opinions, no matter how stupid or ill-informed they be, but your signature file makes you look like a dolt. Because you spelled Bin Laden wrong.

That's just the beginning of why it makes him looks like a dolt.

By the way, I really resent the fact that this degree of stupidity is confined to my gender. Can you imagine a woman posting something so inane? Or a Lesbian being a Log Cabin Republican? Maybe they really are smarter...

Liberals are so easy to bait.

Funny how this string started off as play nice and let people have their opinions. As soon as I posted my opinion, people attacked me.

Thanks for pointing out my typo of bin Laden's name.

re: be civil and tasteful

I'm still trying to decipher the Kerry/bin Laden link. Here is my question:

Why would anyone who lived through the last four years vote for Bush? Maybe it's me, but I don't remember anything good that occurred as a result of the Bush administration. Neither can most of the world.

re: be civil and tasteful

Mister Matt, the looney-toons of the religious right will tell you that GWBush restored morals to the office of the presidency after that philanderer Bill Clinton. They also love the stem cell restrictions, the late term abortion ban and the constitutional amendment against gay marriage.

There are also greedy ones who think all the tax cuts skewed to the wealthy are great, despite the fact that poverty and extreme poverty continue to grow and that 2 million jobs have been lost since 2001. They love it because they are sheltering more money from the government. Ninety percent of Latino families could not tax advantage of the dividend tax cut, but never mind -- all GWBush's rich friends could. Incidentally, so could John Kerry and John Edwards but they opposed it --against their own self-interest.

Big polluters like him because he's relaxing environmental protections. Military contractors LOVE him ('nuf said there).

But will they tell you all this? OH NOOOOOO. The only reasons you'll hear from them will go something like this:

(1) GWBush provided great leadership when our country was attacked. Michael Moore has mocked this into near oblivion, so they rely now mostly on number 2.

(2) We hate John Kerry. Hence, all the attack ads and the latest ridicule of his military service.

They did the same thing to John McCain in the primaries. When they couldn't beat him on charisma or ideas, they used smear tactics to destroy him. This is the most corrupt horrendous government ever -- Nixon was a peach compared to these people.

But, you keep right on asking -- it drives them crazy. Are we as a nation better off now than we were four years ago?

"Michael Moore has mocked this into near oblivion,"

Really? Have you ever seen him handle a live interview where they question him about this? Where he doesn't have his fact-finders telling him what to say?

He sure shut me up. Right...
