Did Streisand actually call sexism or was that someone else? Imagine me saying this in Hillary Clinton's voice in response to that confrontation about her environmental policies but I'm so sick of people claiming sexism where none exists. Bernie Sanders got almost 45% of the total vote. That is why he has some power still. And she isn't being "told" - it's a negotiation.

It's really amazing, time and time again how stupid humanity can be. People distort facts, don't reason clearly and get fired up for nothing at all. I agree when Obama said that Bernie has made Hillary a stronger candidate - and I absolutely appreciate that she has been 'tested' because it means she probably earned the nomination.

Let's stop ****ing complaining about Bernie Sanders. Be thankful for the contribution he has made.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? Bernie's explanation of why he missed the filibuster is almost as persuasive as his reasons for not sharing his tax returns.

So what do you think the real reason is? He hates LGBT people? He loves people carrying assault weapons on the street? I'm sure they're much more likely answers.

Bernie talks about government waste and big wigs getting big salaries, (he's a warrior for a $15 minimum wage), yet he has not been at work in the Senate for a year, he's still collecting his salary, talk about the rich getting money for nothing! He's missed 100% of the votes this session. He hasn't released his taxes yet and now never will. And one vote he could have made, IF HE CARED, he "couldn't make it". I will be so glad when this hypocrite gets back to drawing his free salary for doing nothing in the Senate.

The morons in here who continue to denigrate Bernie supporters, for no apparent reason, best be careful.  You're feeling awfully cocky because Trump is the guy you're thinking you're running against.  How sad it is that is the only one you can beat, be very careful.

"It just didn't work" just doesn't work. Golbinan, I am sure it was because he is still campaigning and didn't want to piss off anyone by taking a stand, or he just didn't give a rat's arse.

Sanders supporters plan "Fart-In" at convention

Bernie Fans Say 'Fart-In' Against Hillary Will Go On
Advocates for poor people and progressive causes say they still plan to make a stink – literally – during Hillary Clinton’s big night accepting the Democratic presidential nomination this month.

The fart-in is to raise attention about things that really stink in our society and one of them is our health care financing system," he says. "People are making a lot of platitudes about how great the Affordable Care Act is, but there are a lot of gaps."

The behaviour is odd but the idea is not wrong. One of the major differences between Clinton and Sanders was that Sanders had a vision to bring healthcare in the USA to the same standard and accessibility as many other western nations. Would he have succeeded? Who knows. But we can be sure that this goal won't happen under the Clinton administration. I guess that's the outcome of a 'progressive who likes to get things done'.

Happy to see that Sanders endorsed Hillary. The backlash to vote Trump is so stupid. See my post at the top of the page re: people being dumb. It makes no sense if you want to push a progressive agenda to vote for Trump. Ridiculous.

Oops, wrong thread...

Sanders need not speak at the convention if all he's gonna do is blow smoke up his own ass.

Apologies to all those who expressed disgust with Sanders supporters.  I've been reading their stuff lately and it sounds as stupid as the GOP.  We weren't all like that.

I've seen a meme going around Facebook saying that this is all part of Sanders' gambit to become the nominee. Endorse Clinton but not concede, and then pull a fast one at the convention and rally the troops and snatch the nomination somehow. It makes absolutely no sense, but is the story that some people are clinging to.

And even more evidence of its lunacy, many variations of the meme say that FDR was forced to endorse his (unnamed) opponent and then took the nomination anyway. Which is patently untrue.

And if it wasn't really obvious to begin with, leaked emails from DNC officials suggest that the deck really was stacked against Bernie Sanders.

The emails re: 'outing' Sanders as an atheist in particular sicken me, and reflect a troubling issue with our world. The fact that someone who is willing to actually think critically and use evidence to conclude certain facts about the world that are more likely truer shouldn't make them less electable, but more.

I've pasted the email below, in case anyone's interested. The DNC CEO's response was "AMEN." I'll leave the intraparty angle for the rest of you to discuss, but it's very disturbing to me that the Democratic Party brass engage in the same sort of bigotry as the Trump crowd - in this case, against people like me.

It might may no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief. Does he believe in a God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.
