Hey guys. Can anyone suggest any really good coloratura songs or just really high soprano songs. I already know about "Poor Wandring One" "A Little Bit Of Good" "Think Of Me" "This Place Is Mine" "The Girl in 14G" "Art Is Calling For Me" "Summertimes" etc.....I just wanted some good new ones. Thanks!

geez, I definitely have a rep full of coloratura opera songs, but you covered all of the music theatre ones I love.
Try Mein Herr Marquis, it's German, but hilarious (it's a "laughing" song).
Or Glitter and be Gay from Candide. You can do it as a tribute to this board

"I Cannot Tell What This Love May Be" from Patience - it's impressive-sounding, and it's a great comic piece. Audiences love it. When I sing it, I change the next-to-last note to a high C, and gliss down to the final note (can't remember what that is off the top of my head).
little reds song in into the wood
"and i know things now verry wonderfull things that i never thought to explor..."
little red's song isn't a coloratura song or high, though...

I don't even remember it going over an E.
ya definitely check out Gilbert and Sullivan stuff. I'm partial to Pirates, and my friend adores Patience and Ruddigore.
Green Finch and Linnet Bird~Sweeney Todd

Definitely "Glitter and Be Gay" from CANDIDE.
"Vanilla Ice Cream" from SHE LOVES ME is a great song, but it only goes high at the end.

"And This Is My Beloved" - KISMET
"The Sun Whose Rays are All Ablaze" from The Mikado is high, and also difficult because it's wordy.

I love "The Sun....", it's my favourite G&S aria.
It's beautiful. And it can be so funny, which makes it even better :)
If you really want to show off your coloratura, skip the musical theatre stuff and jump to Lucia's mad scene or Endless Pleasure from Semele. That'll show em!

Or Der Holle Rache from The Magic Flute.
Now we're talking! Can you imagine what they would think if you launched into the Queen of the Night?!
great ideas! thanks for everything, kids!
I can't think of Queen of the Night anymore without thinking of Florence Foster Jenkins! Curse you, Judy Kaye!!!
