Just finished directing Hurry! for my college's Evening of Student Directed One Acts. It was well received and one of the actors in my show (who was also in my friend's play) received a nomination to go to the Kennedy Center [for an acting award/scholarship] this January. (Only two people were chosen from the entire set of plays, so I'm very proud!)

This month I'll begin working at the Ogunquit Playhouse - very excited about that! Current shows you're in

^ that's really cool. i want to start some kind of student-led something at my school, but our program is full to the brim of slackers and drug-users. it's sad.

That is indeed sad. I think more colleges should give students an oppurtunity to direct, especially if there is an interest in it. At my school - which is just a two year community college - it's the directing class final so the students are given an option to direct a play in the spring or a scene in class. I decided to go with a play because I never directed anything before so I thought it'd be a good challenge. It was hard, and I doubted myself because I never felt I was doing my job - that I could have been much better at telling the actors what I wanted...but the other day one of the guys (the same one who got nominated) said to me, "Thank you for being an awesome director." I start my job in Ogunquit next week. This year I'm a wardrobe dresser so it's going to be fun.

I'm in a little play called 'Gone Up In Smoke' at the moment. It's all very sudden; I got a phonecall a couple of weeks ago saying the juvenile female lead had had to pull out suddenly for health reasons, and did I feel up to learning an entire play to start performing this week? Somehow I managed it, and it's an experience I strongly recommend everyone tries at least once. You feel so good about your skills when you are successful in your line-learning, you don't get any time to get bored with the play, and everyone's so unfailingly nice about you, both for stepping in and for knowing your part. I have SUCH a big ego right now. :3 Shall be very sad when it's all over. Current shows you're in

Currently my dance company has just started working on a performance called "Off The Record". We'll be performing to local artists to have made it big ie: Soul Asylum, The Suburbs, Laurie Lindeen, Dan Israel... and then they'll actually be coming to our show to watch what we've done! AHHH! Nerve wrecking!!!

It is stressful, and not as glamorous as you may think. But although I am reconsidering my decision to go back, I must say that despite the fact the run of Fiddler on the Roof was a bit hard for me, I'm going to miss it a little when it's over (which is soon). Amazingingly, though, I survived Saturday when we had two performances of High School Musical and a night show of Fiddler on the Roof.

Also, there's a chance I'll be in a movie (just have to set up a time for a screen test). :)

Ensemble in Will Rogers Follies. So much dancing.. so much staircase... half the cast is competent and picks up the dance moves easily and the other half can't even walk in time to music, so we have to have four-hour-rehearsals five nights a week in which those of us who ARE able to, you know, function want to jump off the back of the staircase... but it's a fun show and I think it will be fun to perform.
The former lilprima2b... I can't figure out how to get my password emailed to me, so here we go.
