Posted: 2/22/09 at 10:57pmI personally love the music from Slumdog. There WERE weaknesses in the movie, but score was not one of them to me :) In terms of the whole look, sound, and feel of the movie, that's what I thought it DID do especially well

Man, this Original Song category is kinda depressing. Bruce was completely screwed over, and his song was Oscar worthy.
I am a huge fan of Glen Hansard and Marketa Iglova, and I loved their speeches and song last year. That really made the Oscars for me, and was the best moment in Oscar history that I have seen. I've seen them in concert, and their music was so touching and beautiful. I was really hoping for another song like that, and I felt that The Wrestler was the closest thing to come. Such a shame it wasn't nominated.

Posted: 2/22/09 at 11:04pmYes! "Jai Ho"! I loved that song! So glad Slumdog took the music awards. Right after I saw that film I went right out and bought the soundtrack.

Wasn't it ineligible because of it's location in the film?

Exactly! I mean, the weakness in Slumdog was mostly screenplay-based. And it DIDN'T win for that, right? And then obviously like.. the acting was totally right on, but not Oscar worthy. But they weren't nominated for any acting awards.
So I'm PERFECTLY fine with it getting most of the awards that have to do with the look and feel of the movie. It was a GORGEOUS and awesomely captivating movie!
Maybe I just really enjoy Indian culture.. :)
Speaking of Slumdog, Freida looks SO gorgeous!

oh shoot it did? I totally..was thinking something else had won for that haha. Good thing I'm only half paying attention for most of the show :P
Eh, ok. Well, if there's any Slumdog win I DON'T agree with then, it's probably that one. It was still GOOD, just.. there were ones that were even better
