givesmevoice, I'm having the same problem trying to switch cast albums to compilation as I am trying to change any other information. The check box is ghosted and I am unable to click it.

Are you trying to do all of the songs at once? It should work if you do it that way, and when you go to Options under Get Info, you should be able to choose Yes from the drop down box next to Part of a compilation.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

For my cast albums/soundtracks I have the composers listed as album artist and then the individual singers listed for the tracks that they sing...the cover art remains the same...

A follow-up to my previous post. I stated earlier that the automatic upgrade to iTunes11 on my iOs device failed to migrate the CD artwork. I have subsequently learned that if I delete the album missing its artwork from my device and then re-install it from iTunes11 the artwork is added to my iPhone.

Users shouldn't have to do this.

I had no problems with the upgrade. Everything: albums/album artwork, etc. transferred over seamlessly...guess I was lucky.

I am not having any problems with the artwork. My issue now is with the airplay. If I have music playing and using the ipad or computer at the same time it causes breaks in the music whenever the internet is being accesed. I have reset airport and channels and it still does it.

@Dame, are you using the remote app? If so, it needs to be paired with your devices, if you haven't done that already.

What's really annoying about the artwork issue is that now it's always on display on the top while the song is playing.

So I either have the black box with a blue music note or worse the wrong artwork altogether.

@taz, have you tried reinstalling the music? I found that to be helpful. Try doing that first with one album. remove from iTunes11 and then re-add. If the music was purchased from iTunes, it can be downloaded for your purchase history located under the store tab.

@ Dame I would imagine that you need to unpair the remote from the Mac. That was the issue I experienced. If your OS is Lion 10.6 or greater then
-System Preferences > Security & Privacy
-Unlock access (if locked) then click
-Advanced...
-Place a checkmark in the box next to "Disable remote control infrared receiver"
then OK.
-Exit System Preferences

This will stop the remote from affecting your Mac.

@Jose. Thank you. I will give it a try. The problem does not happen when I play XM or Rhapsody thru airplay. Only when I play Itunes thru airplay.

I'm sorry to hear that. I checked at Apple Support and it seems that several individuals have posted similar issues, all looking for a solution. My rec would be to call Apple Support. You should be able to get free support because you'd be calling about the upgrade to iTunes11 and what it has done to your Apple environment. Best wishes. Let me know how it works out for you.

V11.1 just appeared. Actually not sure when it appeared: I've been away for a week. More accurate to say I just noticed that V11.1 has appeared.

Within the description, it alleges to fix stability/control issues with AirPlay, and it brings back the 'show duplicates' function--which was so necessary and never hurt anybody.

You think, what do you want? You think, make a decision...

Has anyone else noticed the increased number of bootleg recordings on itunes? I recently bought an album purporting to be the original soundtrack of PSYCHO, and found that it was just a slightly remastered version (it was advertised as being 'digitally remastered' ha ha) of another recording put out by another label.

Fortunately I notified itunes and they issued a refund, and I took the extra step of notifying the label that issued the original recording in the first place. They seemed glad to have the news, but I see that the bootleg is still available on itunes.

So when I got the new iTunes, it took forever to download and install, I had to do it multiple times because something kept going wrong, and then the iTunes store didn't work because it kept my laptop wasn't connected to the internet. I had to adjust the firewall settings to get the stupid thing to work, which I hadn't had to do with other upgrades.

Then the new upgrade to the new iTunes comes along and I had to adjust my firewall all over again, and this is getting tiresome. Can I just go back to the old iTunes?

You could, but even that is highly problematic from what I've read.

The more I work with iTunes11 the more comfortable with it I'm becoming.

Glad I haven't had all these issues with the new iTunes. Just downloaded v11.01. No problems at all. Works like a charm.

If anyone else has had trouble adding videos under the "TV Shows" tab, I've found a work-around. (I file my Broadway and early TV videos as TV shows, with the different chapter stops as "episodes.")

You can't add a new "TV Show" the was you can simply add new music or new single-file movies. If you do, iTunes will delete or hide all or some of your previous "TV Shows" on your device (I watch them on my iPad) or make crazy duplicates of them.

But if you add the new material to iTunes (as a Movie), change it in Get Info to TV Show, set the artwork and THEN move the ENTIRE TV Show collection to your device--as if for the first time--it works,

The move takes a long time, because video files that are an hour or 2 hours long are very large, but every other shorter workaround seems to make iTunes explode.
