Change in Me does not go that high...I think her highest note is a C...hardly an "insane belt"
nice high belt note as well as being a very good acting song: The Story Goes On

"Here I Am" from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Her final note that she belts is a D#, I believe. The sheet music is in my car.
Umm..."Once Upon A Time"?
i will not be throwing any sporks. I thought of that, too. It does have an insane belt to it. The last note is like an A flat, I think.
u all are helping so much!!!
im writing all of these down.. and trying them all. I'll probably pick through about 20 songs till I find the perfect one. You all are great... thank you

you have to be black to sing anything from Dreamgirls
Not true at all- to sing anything from Dreamgirls, you need to have the right type of voice, a r&b, gospel-type voice. You do not have to be black to sing something from Dreamgirls at an audition. If you want to be in the actual show, then you have to be black. There is a difference.

Change in Me goes up to a D. Not extremely insane.
I agree with Here I Am.
Uh (could be a stupid suggestion) The Sour Kangaroo part in "Biggest Blame Fool" from Suessical?
Heres a couple with INSANE belts:
"Anytime (I am There)" and "Infinite Joy" from Elegies.
"The Road Ends Here" from John and Jen
"I know the Truth" from Aida (with appropriate riffing)
"Our Story Goes On" from Baby (especially if the high F is belted)
Was "Change in Me" highered for Ashley Brown. It just sounds a lot higher.

the beginning of june.... but this audition is too important to wait ANY longer to prepare for... im so nervous!!
What show is it for? That might help (at least in my case) to make suggestions.
One of my teachers knows the woman who played Laurey in a revival of Oklahoma and guess what song she sang for her audition?...People will say we're in love. I know everyone tries to find songs that no one has sung before but maybe there is a reason why nobody has ever song any of those songs, especially for an audition. Also everyone does a song differently, so I say just go with a song that you know, and that you know you can nail. You don’t want to sing a song (that you would have just sort of learned) in a very important audition, mainly, if you’ve never really tried it out before. So just sing the heck out of a song that you know you’ll do great at.
I hope it goes well. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed.

"Suddenly, Seymour" does not have any high belting. The highest note to belt in the song is a C, which is pretty standard in terms of the belt range.
"Nobody's Side" from Chess? The song isn't that high throughout, but there are some showy notes towards the end. Plus it's just a total showstopper. I've got no clue how often it's done, though.

Thats a really good option, sweetestsiren. I will second that, it has some major money notes.

Just, whatever you do, do not yelp a la Julia Murney. Hit the note with grace!

it's a little overdone, but probably rarely done WELL -- "a new life" - J&H. it's not the BEST suggestion, but it would work really well, i think.
look at ANYTHING linda eder has done.
