At this point, I think everyone should . . . well, you know.
I think wizard2joe should find the Student Board and call it home.
Perhaps he can work on his spelling and punctuations skills.
To the woman in the Cox Digital telephone commercial in DC: shut up, Shut Up, SHUT UP ALREADY!!!
This friggin' commercial runs incessantly - off went the TV.
Went to a holiday choral concert today. One of the songs they did was, "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence," also known as STFU!. Thought it would make an appropriate holiday theme song for this thread.
I basically told someone to shut up today. I called an appliance company to ask about a feature on one of their tv sets.
Before she would say yes or no to my question, she demanded to know my name, phone number, email address, when and where I saw the tv, and some more personal info. I went ballistic and told her to stfu before I hung up on her!
ArtScallion, I'm not familiar with that song, but your recanting of it is quite hilarious.
I just spoke to UPS.
I desperately needed some new shoes that were only available online. I found them in a couple of places but I knew that Zappos offered next day delivery so that's where I went.
I've been waiting all day for the promised delivery and NOTHING.
I tracked the shipment online and it said that delivery was made 2 hours ago.
I called UPS.
They delivered it to the building across the parking lot from this one. They tried calling the office that accepted the delivery and got a message that the phone lines had been disconnected.
They will now start a trace.
It will take up to 8 working days.
I CAN SEE THE D... BUILDING FROM HERE!
Couldn't you just walk across the parking lot yourself?
I know. I'll STFU now.
Mamie, I feel your pain. Wait'll you hear this one. It's funny now but it wasn't back then.
I too was waiting all day for a package which never came. When I called Fedex, they said I could come and get it since it was at their office already. I walked over there and showed ID proving who I was, showed them the Fedex card saying that they tried to deliver. Okay, the guy goes into the back room and comes out with my package. I picked it up and he said, no, you can't have it. I'M HOLDING IT!
They guy said there's a label on it saying that it can only be delivered to my door. WTF?
I said that I already proved who I was. He wouldn't give it to me. I was in a state of shock. I started making phone calls to the company who sent it, but the correct person wasn't in that day.
Finally Fedex made a call to a driver and then told me to go home and they would deliver it to me right away. Which I did, but WTF?
It's like you're dealing with poorly programmed computers instead of real people!
Deet - I don't know who they delivered it to in that building. They don't have a suite number over there with the same number as mine and the only name on the signature pad is "Mia". They didn't even get a last name! It's pouring down rain outside, I don't know what I'll find if I go over there and start knocking on doors, and I paid a bundle to have it delivered here. The fact is that somebody over there signed for a package that had my name and my company's name on it. Now what do you think the odds are of my getting it back if I walk over there?
Mamie, why not give it a try? You may get it, and that's way better than waiting 8 days.
Or she may get stabbed with a used Heroin syringe.
Mamie that STINKS! I'd be more than annoyed!
Well, Mamie obviously can't walk down there because she doesn't have any shoes! That's the problem!
Schmerg has great insight....
Mamie, contact Zappos. Tell them it was for a holiday gift, you chose Zappos.com because of their delivery and ask them what they can do about it. I would bet they will send a new pair and ask you to return the others when delivered. That's Overstock's policy. Maybe they will be touched by the holiday spirit?
JG - I did send them an email, just telling them what happened. I didn't ask for a thing - I just let them know as an 'FYI'. I just received an email from them. They contacted UPS and instructed them to retrieve the shoes and return them to Zappos. They then sent a replacement pair using overnight delivery. If all that weren't enough - they included a $20 coupon for me to use on my next order. These are really great people to deal with!
I'm glad things turned out well, mamie. Zappos definitely has the right idea when it comes to customer service.
You're right, DD. Especially true when you realize that they did nothing wrong. It was all UPS' mistake. This is what they'll do to hold on to a customer. Bravo to them!
I am so glad it turned out well!
Shut up to my a-hole downstairs neighbors. I hate their a** faces.

Shut up to the lady waiting at the deli!!!
I was waiting in line at the deli in the supermarket. I thought that the women in front of me was being attended to because she was standing to the side, but apparently not. When asked "who was next" I said, "I believe I am" and then I told them what I wanted. The lady rudely pushed me to the side and said "Yo...I was next" and then used her hip to push me again. She then said to her daughter (who was sitting in the cart with a pacifier at around 4 years old)- "don't be rude like her" (pointing to me). Jeez- I didn't purposely cut in front of her!
UPS should stand for Undelivered Package, SUCKER! or, United Packaging Scam.
They have lost more things than I can say.
The latest being a package of donated make-up from MAC. It was traced all the way across the country, then it said it was on the truck, then it just dissapeared.
HOW does that happen unless someone steals it off of the truck?!
UPS, STFU!
UPS is wonderful. My sister had an incident last year with them. She sells Mary Kay products, so when she needs more product, she orders it and UPS delivers it. Well, last year around Christmas, she was expecting stuff, and her order tracker said it was delivered, but it wasn't. Then they tried finding it again, and couldn't. So, my sister got another shipment of her stuff on their behalf because I know they are responsible for paying if they lose something and can't find it. Well, after that, we ended up finding the original box of stuff, in some trees about halfway up the driveway. My sister did not report it found because it was their mistake and stupidity. Plus, she couldn't give the stuff to her customers because it could have been bad from sitting out in the cold and snow for a few days.
