*giggles* I love those pictures, Chica.
I really think Mano needs to never go blonde again.

It'd be interesting to see what he looked like when he had his head shaved. I can't even imagine it...
It's funny how much entertainment one can get from a few pictures.
Neither can I.

Mano was robbed. F*cking robbed.
LMAO, You may want to think about editing the curse out of your post Gav dearie, there was a bit of a mano thread deletion episode as the result of some passionate language earlier...
I'm upset too, but then again nothing won that I wanted to have win (except for Sweeney's two awards). Mano has garnered a LOT of attention and will have a bright future and win it someday. Just wait.
Good morning, shiny new Mano thread. I feel a Sweeney trip is in order for me after last night's...fiasco. ANyone else plan on rushing it?
having not seen Jersey Boys, I really cannot comment on who did not win, BUT....having seen Sweeny I can say I have rarely seen a performance as good as Mano's live or on film.
Maybe it's because I'm young, but never in my (admittedly somewhat short) theatre-going life has any preformance meant so much to me. From the first time I saw the show, I just thought, that is the kind of work I want to do. I want to be able to achieve THAT level of focus, and THAT amount of detail. In a way, my experience with Sweeney has been a journey. Going from that initial reaction, to later finding out that the cast are all extremely kind, to having wonderful conversations about acting choices that were made, to songs, to caracter inspirations. A show has never meant so much to me. Last night makes me want to bring everyone I know over to the O'Neill. And I just might.
I think I'm going to take my younger brother soon. I used to try really hard to take him to see shows that meant a lot to me -- I took him to see Cabaret before it closed, for example, but he hated it. He was too freaked out by the "weirdness" to see beyond it, which was sad. So, I mean, we saw Chitty together, but it was a birthday gift from my parents -- not because I was like "this means a lot to me, let's see it!" I really want him to see Sweeney, especially because he's a hardcore musician, and I think he'd appreciate it because of that, if nothing else. I
I have seen performances that rival Mano's in terms of calculation, nuance, intelligence, and all of those things we discuss so often, but... those aren't things you get tired of. It's not like... I compare him to Raul, but not in a way that's like... oh, he's secondary because there are two actors who work in similar ways and stuff -- because their talent is so deep, it keeps them from being *too* similar.
I dunno; I could never be on stage, so I admire anyone who can. But I have a huge level of respect for smart actors, and that's why I like the Sweeney cast so much.
That was random. heh.
Have a good day, all!
How old is your brother, Em?
