Interesting questions Chica (to which I know not the answers).
aspiringactress: I'm planning on rushing tomorrow with my dad and my best friend. I'm taking my dad for his birthday/father's day and giving my friend money to buy the ticket for her birthday. And there goes all of my money.

Coming out of lurkerdom to say hi to everyone here... I'm sad today. Hugs to everyone!
Lovin' his hair. He looks pretty darn spiffy. He and his brother are VERY attractive. Goooood genes in the family!
LOL to the blush comment, Chica.

Love Mano's hair. Spiffy indeed.
So, this post is going to be rather rambly, and hopefully not painfully boring. I’ve been thinking about a lot of things lately, last night especially – and figured I would just type and see what comes out. So….
I rarely become deeply attached to a show. I hear good things about a show, see it once, and that’s usually it. Once is usually enough. Because Sweeney Todd was so new to me and yet so complex, I couldn’t approach it the same way I would any other show. Honestly, I was barely familiar with the score before I saw it – having heard little snippets, and “Not While I’m Around” – for obvious reasons. After the first time I saw it, I was really confused, which led me to a second viewing. But I didn’t pay the money just to clear up my confusion…the show just had something special about it that pulled me in. That something special pulled me back a third time and a fourth time. I *love* that there is so much going on in the show – so many little things that perhaps are done knowing people can’t even see them. I love that the actors do things for *them* and their characters, because they are just that devoted and dedicated. I love that Sweeney requires its audience to have an imagination and not only allows, but encourages questions and theories, especially when so many shows spoon feed things to their audience. I’m amazed that I have become so intrigued in such a short period of time, and at the same time, I’m ashamed that I went months without seeing the show. More so now, knowing that the show is possibly at risk.
I’m rather fortunate that Sweeney has fallen upon me, or vice versa. It seems to have been more of an “experience” than a two and a half hour show. It’s so hard to articulate what it really means to me, probably because it has affected me a in a really personal way. I think the cast has propelled these feelings from so many people, whether they are aware of it or not. I know they are characters when they're up on that stage, but if they were cold and unfriendly people, it would be totally different. Their dedication has affected our dedication. It’s almost the “experience” part of it, on a whole, that I will miss the most.
So, there went my love letter to Sweeney. I have no idea what urged me to say those things, but alas, it feels good to have said them.
His hair
So cute.
Rogue, I think I'm going tommorow with my brother. Have we ever met?
New myspace blog. Aww...
(and someone has to have that picture he's talking about...)

Well said, Chica. I completely agree. I've only had the opportunity to see Sweeney once (and I'm afraid that will be my only oppurtunity) but I've never felt so deeply about a show and the experience watching it as this one. I've been going to the theater since a very young age (six or seven years old) and nothing will ever equal what this show means to me.

AMEN sistaaaaaaah's lol. We are bound together as Heather's of the board due to our devotion to such a perfect example of fine-crafted theater. I think I gave up caring about people not realizing the genius, I just don't want people bashing it like some ***** did on another thread. It may sound sad, but I stayed up till 4 last night discussing and defending my beliefs on this show last night.
We all share dedication to this show as much as we see the cast doing for Sweeney. Its all good if we feel that way, who cares if people realize it or not.
So let us put aside our frustration for this one day. And commemorate! The brilliant efforts of the cast and creative team and to the masterpiece itself!

I thought someone didn't seek out things from message boards. Ahem.
Hahaha, that's great.
Aw!
Chica and Fantab, your posts are terrific.
aspiringactress: Nope, we've never met. I haven't met anyone from BWW, actually.
Well, if we both rush tommorow, maybe I'll see you there!
Maybe!
I was watching last night and thought of you all, I'm sorry girls.
I'm definitely going tommrow, Rogue! Anyone else going to rush tommorow?
Ooo yay!
I'm definetly going too! And I'm really excited because this will be my best friend's first Broadway show. I'll probably have to explain the story to her and my dad so they don't get confused.
