Here in the suburbs of DC I am completely snowed in. There's almost two feet of snow on the ground, with forecasters predicting another 4-8 inches before it's finally over. As I type, I'm looking out the window at my car in the driveway which is buried up to the tires. You can't even tell where the street begins. I took a couple pictures, which I'll post in a little while.

My front yard. You can't even see the street or the sidewalk.
Another picture of the front yard.
Our back deck.

I'm in Montgomery County, down County right across the MD-DC border. MD's governor O'Malley is contemplating shutting down the state's highways. Apparently, there's supposed to be whiteout conditions this afternoon and the snow plowers can't keep up with the downfall.
The state's also running out of fields in which to dump the snow having already exceeded a reasonable limit for roadside piling. This is gonna big one big mess come tomorrow morning. Most cars parked along the streets are already buried thanks to the snow plowers.

Posted: 2/6/10 at 1:39pmWe got a lot and they plowed the road at 11. By noon, it was completely covered again. I shoveled the walkway about 45 minutes ago. There's already at least 2-3 inches on the ground where I shoveled. This is fun!

Posted: 2/6/10 at 1:44pmI think we have close to 25 inches in West Alexandria. I shoveled around my car, but it's slowly getting buried again. My church has canceled services tomorrow, and I somehow doubt the Federal Government will be open on Monday -- they closed one day for the last big storm don't see how they can open for this one. Pictures to come...
