that's right, i'm ga-ga over georgie boy. now get your minds outta the gutter, you pervs, this is something deeper than mere lust or physicality, i'm enamored of the man himself.
i mean what's not to like, really? for those of you out there who like to honor folks who stand up for their beliefs even when all around them demean them, who better to idolize than gw? face it, is there anybody who's stood up to more people on the basis of their beliefs? the whole world is against him and there is is on his quixotic quest to change the paradigm of world politics.
now i know there are those of you out there who're quick to point out what you perceive as his flaws like his championing of the federal marriage amendment, the reluctance to pay proper homage to the u.n. and everyone else who was getting kickbacks from saddam, his challenging relationship with his native tongue, the fact that he sees his presidency as almost a divine right, that inexplicable faith in dick cheney long after any sane person would have hired a separate lawyer and quit taking his calls, his lack of any need for outside reinforcement of his own ego i.e. being "liked" by foreign leaders and a possibly contentious alliance with flawed intelligence. but c'mon, other than that, what's not to love?
i myself would follow this man through hailstorm of broken glass and battery acid without him even having to ask. because even though some might call him an sob, at least i know where i and others stand with this sob.
history, i am confident, will bear out my faith in georgie boy as one of the great visionaries of the 21st century. i wonder if anyone will be around then who'll appreciate the irony in that moment?
