I just received an electronic cancellation of Spiderman. My ticket was for the matinee on December 15. Leaning toward a refund after all the bad press.

then you will miss out. this is a highly complex show, delays were inevitable.

but considering it was supposed to open back in February and is now almost a year delayed isn't good. I wouldn't be suprised if it's opening gets delayed until the spring.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

it was delayed initially because of money. it will open on 1/11/11 guaranteed.

At the rate things are going, it seems 1/11 isn't really guaranteed. I would possibly say guaranteed after the inspections are done and they are in the clear. JMO

There are people making really grandiose bets that this show will never make it through previews.

At this point, I question whether it will even play previews.

Delays are NOT inevitable. NO one knows if anyone will "miss out", since no one has any idea on what will actually happen. Like with any show it could be wonderful (I typed that with a straight face!) or it could suck. And no matter what, you will not get a consensus. There are people that already believe it will be the savior and those that believe it's going to be theatrical armageddon -- and both have that opinion sight unseen and nothing will change most of their minds.

The op is entitled to decide that it's not "worth it".

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I just got my cancelation notice for Nov 17 (saw this one coming) and rebooked for Dec 1 or 8.
I'm more of a U2 fan than a Spiderman fan, but I just have to see this for myself after all this hype.

Julie Taymore Talks

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
