aha! the trick to avoiding these nasty prices is to politely enter your local deli or cleaners and kindly ask if you can take the posters that have been placed in their windows/entranceways. Some company just hangs 'em up everywhere, and usually, these stores are more than willing to give them away. I've snagged Sweeney Todd, Little Women, BKYLN, Musical of Musicals and Pajama Game to name a few.

I only buy windowcard for the shows I love, and I have no problem shelling out the money because I enjoy supporting these shows. I have quite a collection, but I don't regret a single purchase. Simple as that.

So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?

They've been 20 for a few years now.

And remember, Windowcards are printed on a MUCH stronger paper stock than the big Sam Goody posters. They're more expensive to produce.

I don't buy them very often because the custom fit frames are also so expensive.

Just $40 at Triton. Which in the scheme of frames isn't that much.

Why is the Aida Windowcard so impossible to find?

I just got a slightly bigger standard frame for my sweeney window card, mounted it on acid-free paper cut to fit the fram and-VIOLA framed for much cheaper than a custom frame... gave me something to do on a rainy sunday too...

What a night! I was in more laps than a napkin!

They have it at Triton. For $125. Because the show's not running anymore they don't make them anymore so the price goes up.

I don't know why. Could have been a limited edition? Or maybe it was just a popular one? I can look at some of the stores for you if you want.

I've found many of the out-of-print $125 posters for $10 or less on eBay. Just be patient and check often - everything turns up eventually.
