I love A Little Night Music sooooo much.
I'd love to see it revived soon.
I was interested in Margo's comment that the MTC is looking to put a smallish musical into the Biltmore. I just saw John Doyle's London production of Mack and Mabel. It's at the Criterion - comperable size - and features a cast of eleven doubling as the orchestra in a unit set. And it's wonderful! It would be perfect.

Pippin is still in the planning stages, but is likely to happen... tho it may be 07-08 instead.
I think the Musician's Union will soon kill John Doyle.

I just stumbled across www.harriell.com and remember why I feel head over heels with that woman (and now her husband). They are so freaking adorable.
If she really gets Dorothy in The Wiz I might explode, as it has been my wish since the first time I heard her open her mouth.
Anyway, all the Harriell love got me to wondering if she was in the running for Dorothy, but according to MEF, she is. Does anyone know who else was in there at some point (aside from Anika)?
Marcy Harriel is way too old to play Dorothy in THE WIZ, unless they are making the character a 25 year old school teacher like the film version, which would be a disaster.
I could however, see her as Glinda.

But she's so tiny.
I just want to put her in my pocket.

What the hell?! So she's "too old" for Dorothy...?
Why don't you just say what's really going on here, you racist piece of sh*t...IT'S BECAUSE SHE'S BLACK, ISN'T IT?!?!!
Doyle's Mack and Mabel has not gotten good reviews from the London Press. I am again ready to go out on a limb and venture that maybe Sunday Park with George will transfer from the West End to Broadway with a new American cast of course.
Well there was a huge full page ad for MACK AND MABEL in Variety this week with tons of raving quotes and four star reviews - so somebody must like it...
I'm just hoping that the rumored revival of West Side Story happens. GAH, I love it. And PLEASE let Laura Benanti be available to play Maria. I'm still in mourning that she wont be playing Ms. Poppins, but I can still hold out hope for her in WSS, right?
...Would've loved for this to have happened a few years ago, actually, so that Daphne Rubin-Vega could've played Anita. The lady would've been FIERCE.
hy don't you just say what's really going on here, you racist piece of sh*t...IT'S BECAUSE SHE'S BLACK, ISN'T IT?!?!!
wtf? Was this sarcastic?
In this day and age, the producers of any Broadway production of WEST SIDE STORY would get major flack for casting such a white bread actress like Laura Benanti as Maria...
It would never happen. They'd totally hire a Latina..
ok.....well, you've got a point, MB.....but GAAAAH---just to hear her amazing voice singing that amazing score.....a boy can dream, can he not?

Margo, was JCS revival really six years ago? time flies...
How cool would it be to have West Side Story, My Fair Lady, and South Pacific all on Broadway at the same time.
So was the 2002-03 season considered a big year for revivals? With Fiddler on the Roof, Wonderful Town, Assassins, Big River, Little Shop of Horrors...were there any others? That's a great mix if you ask me.
"If GREY GARDENS transfers (as is rumoured) Christine Ebersole will win the Tony next season for Best Actress in a Musical. Signed. Sealed. Done."
I've heard this as well. I can't wait to see this show.

We need Christine Baranskis ass on stage, I hope she does well in DC.
This talk of the new revivals is thrilling. We will have to see how things unfold, the anticipation is crazy though. And I really would love it if Evita and Sunday found their way over although I doubt it. It would save me a trip to England though, but Caroline should be mounted I think in the fall so oh well, it sounds like a good season there too.
I heard through "reasonble" sources that Anyone Can Whistle is being looked over at a regional house with the hope of the big white way- but you didn't hear that from me.
But lets talk about Pinter back on Broadway next year with Old Times- I thinks it's Old Times.
Don't you think Cyndi Lauper would be great in Anyone Can Whistle? Shhhhhhh.

It was announced that The Homecoming, not Old Times, is being revived in the fall.
